Do you hang your granny panties out for the world to see?

So I was on my way home, stopped at a light, and looking around to ease the boredom. I noticed on my left that someone in the apartment places had hung their laundry out. I was very thankful at that moment that I am lucky enough to have a dryer, but I thought that if I didn't I wouldn't want to hang my laundry out for everyone to see if I could at all help it. THEN, I noticed that they even had their panties on the line! Huge granny panties...OMG I was laughing so hard and called DH right away to tell him. This was on the main road that goes through our city too. I wished I could have gotten a picture.

Please keep the tag fairy away!!

LOL I would have been like "Um, lady I'm afriad of your panties, please remove them from the premises"

I live in a fairly small town, somewhat rural community. Almost everyone has a clothes line. This is a very common occurance around here. I have on numerous occasions seen big ol' granny panties on the line. I guess I never thought it was strange till now. But the more I think about it, it is pretty funny.

My mom & grandmother always used an unbrella type clothesline. They put all the underwear on the center lines and things like sheets & towels on the outside to keep the unmentionables hidden.
Gee, I love my dryer. :goodvibes

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: So did we growing up. Now that I have my own home, I do not do the clothesline thing so, nope no granny panty flags for me :lmao:

We went through almost 3years with no dryer and two kids in cloth diapers. We had stuff hanging all over the yard, but no underwear. I simply refuse to hang our undies out for the neighbors to see--undies go on the drying rack in the kitchen. They were offended enough by the rows and rows of diapers :confused3

If I were hanging my clothes on the line I would either do as others did, and hang them where the viewing public couldn't see them or dry them in the house or something. Just not something I'd want the neighbors to see, lol.

I'm really thankful for a dryer too!

I used to hang clothes outside and the underwear went up just like the jeans, shirts, towels, sheets. Never cared if anyone saw them or not. People wear underwear, why shouldn't they see that you wash them too?

To those posters who hung things out, but not the underwear, maybe your neighbors thought that you didn't wear any then! :teeth:

When I lived at home with my mother and grandmother, they'd hang everything outside and wouldn't bother to try to hide it. They live on a corner lot, too, so anyone driving by could see. So there was their stuff - utilitarian white granny pants and over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders - and then my little lacy red and black dainties. Yep, you could tell what belonged to who! :teeth:

I dont think anyone should hang their underware were people can see them whether they be "granny" or "thong" But if they are going to do it I dont see any difference in type.

Did the same here with cloth diapers. But my clothesline had everything on it. If the neighbors have nothing better to do than watch my clothesline, then let them . LOL, I think we all had clothes outside on the line. I was the only one that used cloth diapers though. I still have a drying rack , but also have a dryer now. I miss the clothesline, the clothes smell so good, when you bring them in.

Maybe they thought the underwear never got washed. ;)

Actually, I don't care what my neighbors see.

From time to time our clothes get hung in our garage - like if the dryer isn't working, and in the few years before we bought the dryer. Our clothes and undies are fairly average (no huge grannies or teeny thongs), so were never embarrassed about them.

I never let my mom dry my underwear in the dryer. I only buy the expensive lace stuff, and the dryer just ruins it big time... it hurts to see 50$ panties killed by that stupid dryer... But I also don't let her hang it outside. She uses a dryrack inside for my nicer stuff :)

This thread reminds me of a time when I was younger, working as a nursing assitant while I put myself through nursing school. :teeth: I used to take extra jobs working with elderly people in their homes. At one point a worked a couple evenings a week for a prominent psychiatrist and his OBGYN wife, taking care of the OBGYN's mother who had dementia. The mother was the sweetest woman, but she was forgetful and would do odd things. She couldn't be trusted at home by herself for any length of time.

One day in early spring/late winter, when it was still too cold for the flowers and trees to bloom, yet warm enough for people to be outside doing yard work getting ready for spring's arrival, the daughter ran to the store just for a small amount of time, which was fine. When she returned home to her middle upper class home in her middle upper class neighborhood, she found that her mom had washed all her granny panties and hung them outside to dry ... in the front yard ... on the tree branches. :lmao: She had bloomer ornaments in her trees that were flapping away in the breeze. :teeth:

Wow, I don't think I have seen clothes hanging outside in years! I imagine we have some neighborhood rule against it. I don't think I have seen them hanging anywhere in ages in fact! Thank goodness for dryers! I would probably look and laugh and get in a wreck! :rotfl2:

I love hanging my clothes out on the line. When the weather is nice you can see the whole families undergarments outside. Love it.

So funny, my neighbor hangs out her undies every Sunday. You can count the days of the week by her line. I laugh each week. It could be freezing, raining, whatever the weather and her undies are out there. Another neighbor told me that one day she saw her with a gentlemen friend in her conservatory with her undies flying high on the line. :rotfl: Love it.
