Have I heard correctly that you can purchase annual passes for less as DVC owners. Are you considered a Florida resident now?? What other types of perks do you get because your are DVC? Discounts at the park? Cruise prices ?? Just wanting to know the full benefits. I like to know all of the good benefits.

Yes, your annual passports are cheaper. This year our annual renewed at $297, down from the wonderful price of $315. That's a discount of $125, I think. You also get the DDE card for $50 instead of $75, which is a wonderful perk! It paid for itself for us in 3 meals! Of course, one of those meals was at France, but still.....You also get 10% just being a DVC member at several restaurants, but the DDE card is still worth the price, because it's so much less restricted. With your cheaper annual, there are also benefits, such as cheap prices at other on-property resorts. Last sumer AKL was $140 per night, for example. I just love my annual--you can come and go at the parks. Too hot--hey, go back to the resort and take a nap! It's OK, you can always go tomorrow instead! :teeth:

If you have a membership number you can log in to the members only website at www.dvcmember.com. Once you log in you can see all the perks. The annula pass discount is $100 for an adult and I believe $85 for a child.

:thumbsup2

The DDE card increased to $60 on Jan 1st, note that the DDE is an annual passholder perk, not a DVC perk...you must be either a FL resident or a passholder to get the DDE.

$60?!! Man, I hate inflation! :furious: (and I get to use this new smilie, at last!)

If you are asking this question before you buy:

Perks are not guarenteed and are subject to change at any time. Currently there is a good AP discount, a few restuarant discounts (even without the DDE), waterpark/minigolf and PI discounts. You are not considered a Florida resident - DVC perks are seperate from FL resident perks.

There is currently also the privledge to pool hop, subject to some restrictions (black out periods during holidays, no hopping to SAB or AKL).

In the past we had a discount on UPHs, but not APs, and in the distant past DVC members had free passes. We've had discounts to Cirque, but they seem pretty seasonal and off and on.

Disney occationally offers us "special cruises" These aren't discounted, but the members who go say the extra goodies are worth the cruise. However, I've never seen a discount on cruises. IMO, cruising on points is usually not a good deal, but do the math, because it occationally can be.

There is a discount on cash rooms within DVC, but no general resort discount.

And, once again (because I believe this has been a point of dissatisfaction with some members) perks are not guarenteed.

You can find a list of the current discounts here.

I like that particular listing because it also includes info on AP/PAP discounts, participating restaurants in the DDE, and Florida resident discounts, as well as discount info for Disney Visa cardholders. Many DVC members have an interest in all of those things.

Best wishes -
