Love, love, love eating at all the different places. And don't think I'll ever get tired of having someone else do all the work & clean up - yes, even making a sandwich is work when I'm on vacation (mother of 4 grown children, and I did child care for nearly 20 years...if I never had to prepare another meal I'd be happy!)
As for the reports that all the food tastes the same, there's not variety, and the quality has gone down hill...not by us! We went in May 2007 & May 2008, and thought the food was wonderful both times. When we choose our restaurants, we deliberately pick different restaurants, and try to choose mostly "new" ones (new to us)...we'll do American one night, Italian the next, then seafood, and so on. We mix it up between menu restaurants & buffets. It only "all tastes the same" if you're always choosing the same types of food everywhere. And as many previous posters said, we rarely get dessert in restaurants at home, and even more rare to have it at home (basically Birthdays & holidays only) so on vacation, we think it's great fun to try desserts. Love the DDP for this!
It may not be the best deal if your family always splits meals...but it saved us money on our last trip (this year.) We kept track of actual $$ spent.

However, she trys new things all the time and has excellent table manners from eating out since she was a baby. She and I also do lunch sometimes, just the two of us, at TGI Fridays and Applebees (her 2 favorite lunch places). She goes to school full-time this fall-1st grade, so that will be cut down a lot. It's a shame, she's a great lunch date!
I told him he lost his effin mind!
Sometimes I do get a bit tired of eating in a restaurant, BUT what I am really looking forward to is my 9 year old picky eater son ordering WHATEVER HE LIKES on the menu, and my husband and I won't have to cater to what he likes. We can all just order what we like! (He gets serious migraines and vomits if he doesn't get full meals on time, but he is so picky that I just go insane!)
We eat pretty healthy at home so too many french fries or heavy sauces start to drag you down. Luckily WDW is making it easier and easier to choose wholesome dishes that aren't loaded with grease.
