Do you get any kind of gift for joining DVC?

All the gifts described seem like nice extras.

When we did the sales tour early this month, we received meal vouchers for Beaches and Cream, our meal for 4 there was probably $60 or so.

We just put a deposit on BWV last week over the phone, so I'm curious to know if we will get any gifts with our package in the mail or after we send back the paperwork or if they chalked it up to the meal vouchers? I'm a pen nut, so that would be cool.

Can folks share timing of when they received their gifts?

We got our backpack and litho of VWL when our paperwork came via Fed Ex. We had put a deposit down when we called. I did everything over the phone. Bought our home site un seen.

I joined in September 1999 at BWV and got a book bag with the paperwork and a tote bag with the member card after closing. After that I got the license plate, VWL pin, "members are magical" magnet a couple of times.

A backpack, a pen and two prints of BCV (one for my initial purchase and one for my add-on).

This isn't for signing up, but if you go on the cruise make sure you go to the DVC gathering. Got a Vero Beach towel from that, and some free (albeit weak) Bloody Marys.

We joined August 2000 during a stay at Vero Beach and received 2 DVC canvas tote bags and a DVC license plate.

Gifts for buying/owning...
We got a canvas zippered tote (kinda cheap, but nice given I didn't expect anything) when we joined, along with an OKW pin. When we decided to add-on, I think our new guide wanted to impress us -- he sent us another canvas tote bag (different and honestly much nicer) with a nice thank you note. We've also gotten pins along the way for VWL & BCV, as well as the two All-American Mickey head pins to commerate Sept. 11th.

All-in-all, ther gifts were a lot more than I ever expected.
