We found that we got the best deal by doing a room only and booking tickets separately. Just wondering what you guys preferred to do?

I do the same stellablue. I like the option of cancelling without having to pay everything upfront. Just the deposit. I had a cast member on the phone trying adamently to get me to purchase tickets. I said I wanted to wait until I was actually there to use them. I never know if I'm going to have to cancel my trip.

We do a package through AAA w/o airfare, that way I only have to put down the $200.00 deposit and if I cancel I still get it all back. I book airfare seperate and then add on the insurance by calling back my AAA ta and he then adds the insurance on for me.

Me too !! Why?? Because I'm traditionally aware of all the discounts and an RO ressie can save 40%.
My room only discount for 4 nights @ PCL is $536. for this May!! :woohoo:
My tickets ae never thru Disney unless its my $100. discounted DVC AP, or thru undercovertourist or mousesavers when I don't need an AP.
As far as dining...I get the DDE yearly....so 20% off table service meals, including liquor. BTW.. for up to 10 people.

We always do packages, We like the fact that everything is paid before we get to Disney... We did get a great rate for the Swan this year but I hate the fact that I have to buy everything separate. So I don't think we will be doing that.

Typically we do a room only(AAA discount) and get tickets via UT. Unless, we need to book a package like last year (40% pin code) or the year before (free dining).

I find room only can be cheaper in the end for our family. Patiently waiting for room only discounts for May:surfweb:

Got my AP RO for May @ the PCL last week....it wasn't posted yet.....maybe you should call???:confused3

I like to have our meals paid for prior to going, so we always do the package.

We do a package because we also do the dining plan. I also like having everything paid for upfront and that lets me go and not have to worry about how much I am spending.

I buy package.Only because My dh likes to know that everything is taken care of up front.I know the dining plan isn't what it used to be , but we like having most of our food costs taken care of up front.I did get a nice discount on my room portion this trip, so that made it nicer .:goodvibes

We do room only unless Free Dining is being offered.

Me too. I like not having to worry about how much money to budget for food once I get there.

We do however book room only when we visit DisneyLand California.

Not AP holders. This trip we actually are using left over tickets from last Aug. as we had to leave early due to medical emergency:sad1:
