when i first went to digital i found myself taking literally hundreds of shots in a few hrs. but lately i think i am more concerned with comp, light etc and now only take 1/2 that amount or even less...last 2 times i took about 50 or less an hr( expressly going out to shoot, not as a addition to going somewhere else for an outing)
anyone else doing this or am i once again marching to that music only i can hear:lmao:

Actually, I am with you. I too am not shooting the volume of photos I used to. I [wishfully] believe it's because I'm getting better at it, knowing what I need for the shot instead of ensuring I get the right exposure by trying numerous settings.

Also, I am getting tired of the post processing routine. Processing a few hundred shots each session gets tedious after awhile. Cutting the number of exposures and trying to get just a few "good ones" seems to be a better solution for me.

Nope, you are not alone.

Yes Janet - I am in the same boat. I took half as many shots at Disney this year and have ended up with about 200 more keepers than I did last year.

I am definately shooting less and thinking more. I recently started shooting film again as well- and I think that has me considering each shot more carefully before taking it.

I'm also taking fewer photos per session and hope hope hope the ones I take are better. I think they are...but, who knows? :D

I think I am taking less for my personal shoots but for my baseball ones, I am taking MUCH more. Of course, this year, I am being relied upon to get great shots of the team, so I am shooting everything I see.

For my personal shoots and vacations, etc, I think I am thinking much more about it and it always helps to take less when you hear "would you put the %@!^$# camera down and come enjoy some time with your family!". :lmao:

i solved that by staying far enough away from hub that i can't hear him sighing those "meaninful" as in "i'm bored" sighs. he has a fit if i go by myself ( paranoid would be to put it mildly, it's not like we live in some crime ridden area. what's going to mug me, a bunny, a cardinal,a horse? and if i do go by myself i have to spend the whole time answering his phone calls:lmao: ) so i figure then he has to live with his boredom

For personal shots (vacation, kids at sports, etc...) I've found myself taking less, and as was mentioned I'd like to think it's because I'm getting better and taking great shots the first time. For rock concerts I am taking more than ever, only because I have a limited time to be up front and I just never know what I will truly end up with until they are downloaded and scrutinized.

I'm taking about the same. I think about my composition more but then I turned on auto bracketing and have been experimenting a lot when I find a worthy subject as well so it's still balancing out to about the same.

I've also been experimenting with taking pics from a moving car with my ISO setting up since half the time, in Montana at least, there's no safe place to stop and the scenery on the road can be really interesting. They're not incredibly sharp pictures that I could sell to microstocks but I like them.

This one was the result of my brother and I discussing if you could really capture the light effects that the clouds were having on the mountains or if it would look flat on film and whether color or black and white would be better.
