Do you ever get bored of WDW?

I'm always reading about those of you who do annual or semi-annual trips to disney. Although I just got back from a trip, absoultely loved it and miss it, there is no way I could go back each year (cost aside). I think I would get too bored and it wouldn't be as special! Sure there is a lot to do there and surely many things I've overlooked during my visit, but there are so many other places that I'd love to travel to in this world (Epcot World showcase aside!) I'll definitely go back to disney at some point in my life (this was my 4th time, but my 1st time in 10 years or so- I really don't remember the last 3 times since I was pretty young!) but not anytime in the near future.

thoughts?

There's so much to do at WDW besides ride your favorite rides. The key to enjoying multiple trips is doing something different.

I have to agree with you. My kids are almost 9 and 11, and while I have always wanted to take them to WdW, I wanted them to be old enough to remember it, as I didnt see anyway we could afford to go back. I promised them in 2001 or 2002 that we would take them in 2004. Lo and behold 2004 came and immediately when are we going they would ask.We made our first trip in Aug of 2004, and thanks to this board, I found discounts that saved me a fortune and allowed me to take the girls back in Oct 2004 for MNNSHP. Since we have an AP, and it is expiring Aug of 2005, we think we should take advantage of it and go back.

Now I love WDW, and the second and third trip will not ever compare to the first one, but I want my kids to know that there are beautiful places in this great land of ours. We have been to Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Statue of Liberty, Colorado, and more with them. THe road trips can not be matched.
While we take a vacation every year, I love to see different parts of the country, tho I am sure at some point we will go back again to the wonderful world of Disney. Thinking maybe next year we will take them to Alaska.

BLASPHEMY! Just kidding! Honestly, we do take other trips, but I, as the trip planner, find it so much easier to go to WDW and have it all in one place. A few summers ago, I planned with my SIL to take our families and meet in Yosemite, and the rest of the extended family got wind of it, and invited themselves along! It ended up being great fun, but was stressful when my SIL and myself suddenly had to plan meals and activities for 19 of us, ranging in age from 2-82! There's so much to see and do at WDW, that I don't think I could ever feel that I'd done it all! :D

I get bored with the parks but I'm down there much more than once annually.

I usually go now to visit with friends who either live there or are making trips there.

Living in central Fl has been great. We can go to Disney for a couple hours for dinner, spend a weekend, etc. We've been living here for 5 years and are not tired of Disney. We also have Sea world and Busch Garden passes. We had Universal passes for 2 years, but just recently chose not to renew them. We do something at WDW at least twice a month. There is so much to do and see. We still haven't done everything. Of course we expose our children to other outlets, other states and countries. However, our favorite place to be is Disney!

With DVC we get the best of both worlds: enjoying disney and traveling all over the world. Have enjoyed disney with my kids while they are young and are trading out for Hawaii in 2006 :cheer2: :cheer2:

(My kids are now 6 and 13)

We tend to go in spurts. When we get an AP we go several times during the year and then we don't go back for a few years. This year my 5yo and I got APs and I've brought him twice (total of 3 weeks), I went with my DH (no kids) and later this month I will bring my 11yo. After this last trip (and an expired AP) we'll see how many years before I'm back.

Before we return to WDW we'll probably go to DL since it's been 10 years since we've been there.

T&B

I think each time is better in the way that you know you will be returning and don't vacation in camando style.
There is soooo much to do at WDW. We have not even touched all the bases yet.
DH still wants to go parasailing and take surfing lessons!
Yes, you can only see SpectroMagic or ride PotC so many times. But WDW almost always has something different, entertaining and fun happening.
The only complaint I can see (and have heard from long timers) are the festivals do not change much from year to year. (Same Food & Wine selections, same Flower Power bands, etc.)

You are soooo lucky!!!!!!!! I dream about going to Epcot just for dinner!

Well, the last time I called CRO, they informed me that I'd stayed at Disney 40 times!!! I'm never bored with Disney; of course, I've seen it all. But, in making trips with other friends and relatives, I see the place brand new through their eyes--and that's part of the magic of Disney. Over those 40 trips, several times I've sworn that's my last trip. I won't buy another annual pass. And then,.....somebody starts asking me questions, or wants help planning their trip, and before you know it, there I go again! :earseek:
Mind you, I also travel to Europe often, and the west coast. So, no , I'm not bound to Disney only, but it sure is a happy place. I make no excuses, (don't need any). To those of you who do not understand, no explanation is necessary. :flower1:

Since my son was born, we've been 3 times (he's 3) and we're going back in May.....why? where else do you go with little kids? Sure, we go home to Grandma's and see family, but that is twice a year or so.

WDW is so great for small children, plus we spend part of every day in the swimming pools and have high hopes of eventually going to SeaWorld and Universal. So far, we "lose" 2-3 hours a day to naptime back in our room and he conks out around 8-9 pm, so with the 4 parks, there is plenty to do.

We've traveled all over Europe and Asia -- before kids -- and plan to take the kids there later, but right now, travel to a new city with a preschooler isn't something I want to attempt. His attention span and interests are way differen than ours and rather than be frustrated when he won't behave while sightseeing, we figure for 5-8 years or so, we go go somewhere he wants to go.

He also reads the Disney stories at home, so it is so fun to watch him "meet" the characters. When he gets older, I'm sure we'll cut down on the trips. Of course, my daughter is 3 years younger.....wait until she meets her first Princess!

I have only been 5 or so times but wouldnt it be nice to get some sort of perk for repeat visitors...Loyal visitors...40 times deserves something....WOW

I never get bored at Disney! There's just so much to see and do!

I've gone to WDW a lot. It is a magical place for me, but a lot of that is for two clear reasons:
1. I grew with with Mickey Mouse Club, Annette et al...and it was a dream ever since I was teeny to go to DisneyLand. I finally took myself at the ripe old age of 19.
2. The first time to Disney World was in 1978 and my then boyfirend asked me to marry him at the Poly Luau. So of course, that memory will always be magic. (Tho it is hard now that I am recently divorced.)

We went at least once a year and each time was a milestone becasue we took our baby, our child, our preteen and teen...even made other memories as our preteen (and tenn) performed at Disney.

So, no....we didn't get bored or tired. And there were even some rides we did way more than once per trip or even once per day!!!!! )Currently Rockn Roll Coaster comes to mind!) But the last few times (when I 've gone post divorce) I do have moments when I am overwhelmed with feelings...and sometimes when I am on a ride now, I tend to 'fade out' , start thinking of something else and miss the damn ride!

So, I guess we can, at times, lose the feel of the magic...and maybe get bored.
But I always snap out of it. I will always love going with a first timer...especially if that first timer is a little child. I guess I will have to wait until I am a grandma for that.
But the memories of my little one's reaction to the magic will always remain...and even now, despite the pain of seeing my bricks with the Xs name and promises on it...the magic is still there somewhere. (of course I swear that I am going next Halloween with a costume needing a pick axe and I will chip his name from our bricks by the light of the moon! LOL)

Sometimes it just takes a few years to forget all that there is to do, or for some new parades, shows, rides to make you want to go back. And if the whole family gets a little tired of it...well then by all means go somewhere else and enjoy that and don't worry about being different from the folks on this forum..We are all NUTS about Disney!

Happy New Year!

Oh and no I dont get real bored....MGM bores me a bit...as does half of Magic Kingdom...but I still love going and seing my kids faces....this last trrip was my oldest sons 1st time to go upside down....thats all he talks about and talked about to his friends...My youngest rode Tower of Terror but wouldnt ride it a 2nd time but that is all he talks about along with Spiderman at IOA....Its those memories I cherish

Get bored with WDW...NEVER

There's always new and exciting things to see and do and so many worth repeating over and over. :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

we go two to three times per year and enjoy each and every trip! We have 3 daughters so fitting everything in(even during a 10 day vacation) is difficult! So we use each trip to eat at least one or two new places(we have favorites that are a MUST each trip) we try different rides as favorites of each trip(the girls decide which one we will ride over and over and over again!!!!) We also try staying at different resorts, since we usually stay at least 10 days we like to break up the stay and stay someplace new at the beginning and a favorite for the last few days!!! We are happy to get there and happy to leave, then happy to get back again! That is the joy of vacationing!!!! People ask me all the time if I get tired of it and absolutley NOT is my answer, I loved it before we had kids and I will continue to love after they are grown!!! I'm looking forward to the day when my husband and I get to go back to WDW as a couple without three screaming little girls!!!! But considering the oldest is only 5 we have a long wait!!!!!!

While there are many other places in the world I have been and still want to visit, (I'm hoping to get to Italy in 2006) I have found that as a place to take teenagers, WDW is unsurpassed.

I took my 17 yo daughter to the mountains in Colorado last summer and she made the trip miserable. There were constant complaints of boredom and not anything to do, while surrounded by some of the most majestic scenery in the world. (This is a girl that gets good grades and has never given me a day of trouble in her life.)

I'm grateful that I enjoy WDW so much, because teenagers can go off on their own and they are usually too tired to complain much! This leaves me alone to enjoy all the little details of WDW at a slower pace.
