Do you ever feel like you don't have enough time at WDW?

We've been twice. Of course on the first trip, as much as I tried, it was madness. But I worked so hard on our second trip, thinking I had it all worked out, and I still didn't get it all in. There's just not enough time to "stop and smell the roses". Do you ever get to the point where you just calm down and stop rushing through it all?

Give it up. We spend 8 weeks there every summer and we still have not done everything. However, I think my problem is once I get our camper set up in Ft. Wilderness, I don't want to leave it. :teeth:

I think if you spend more than a week there it might not seem as hectic, I noticed on the shorter trips that there is just soooo much I just have to see and need about 5, no 7, well, maybe 8 days to get it in, after that, I can relax, oh heck, who am I kidding, I could spend 2 weeks there and still need more time !!! :lmao:

The answer to your thread title question is yes, we always feel like we don't have enough time. But the answer to this question is also yes. We definitely have reached the point where we calm down and don't rush through it all. We go at a pace we all feel comfortable with and we get done whatever we get done.

A couple of things help. Number one, we go every year so we feel if we don't get to something this year, we'll catch it next time. Number two, before we leave, or on the drive down, we make a list of must-sees. And then we try to focus the trip to cover as many of those as possible. We usually don't get to all of them, but we get to most.

Forget trying to see everything in a week. It just isn't possible. Even two weeks wouldn't be enough. And if there are offsite things you want to do also, which is true for us, then you would literally need several weeks to cover it all. So just relax and enjoy what you DO get to see. It isn't worth rushing through it all and not fully enjoying the stuff you do.

Well, to me, there are two kinds of vacations...active and passive. Passive is at the shore, with a cottage overlooking the sea and not a thing to do but work on your tan, read your books, frolick in the waves, and dream about dinner. While at Disney, there is much to do and see, miles of walking, and a city-like feel of never getting enough. The fact that we don't get to visit often just makes it more intense. When we enjoy a Disney vacation, we are fully aware that we will need a vacation from the vacation when we get back. But what a sweet feeling. :)

I've simply stopped trying to do everything. My best friend's and I go every year and each trip we try something new. I don't think we'll ever see everything, but we always take our time. Even though WDW is an extremely active vacation, it's still my vacation. I've taught myself to just relax and enjoy what I'm doing on this trip, knowing that I'll be back the next summer! :hippie:

I could live the rest of my life in WDW (yes, right in the parks) and still feel like I didn't have enough time there!!!!!

alot of good advice here!! and I agree with the majority

yes we never have enough time at disney

dont over do it, and anything you dont do this trip is a good excuse to start planning your next trip back.

My thoughts exactly...well said !!! :thumbsup2

Gosh, does anyone ever feel that they *do* have enough time at WDW? I always want to stay at least a day or two longer than I have planned. ;) Seriously, prioritize and realize that part of the fun will be planning your *next* trip!

Um...yeah! Every time we go! But that's more about not wanting to leave than trying to do everything.

I didn't escape "park commando" mode until we bought DVC and AP's.

While together those two things can be a dangerous combination (hey, I found really cheap airfare, we can stay on points, cook some meals in the room and we already paid for the AP's...let's go!) it really did calm me down knowing that we'd be coming back at least once a year for the next 42 years.

If we didn't get to something this trip... :confused3 oh, well...we'll try to do it next time. It is nice to spend more time just experiencing the atmosphere of the parks.

I've never had enought time, even when we were there for 8 days last spring. But that's because the longer the trip, the less my family lets me plan like a comando :badpc: One of these days I'm taking a trip on MY terms, open to close in the parks every day. THEN I'll get to do what I want to do

Too funny!

When I read DH the list of performers for the Flower & Garden Festival he kept saying..."Ooo, they're good!" Seemed like he was more interested with each group name I read ;)

I think we might need to book a trip for then! Hmm...I also think I need more points!

No doubt, I feel like we never have enough time. Wish we could afford to stay 2-3 weeks instead of just 1.
