Do you ever feel drawn toward a certain place, that you have no ties to?

No ties, but I feel a "connection" to both NYC and London. I have never visited either place, but I have a feeling that If I went there, I'd feel I belong. It's really weird

Germany, Norway, London, and the coast. I am a Pisces, and I am always drawn to water...

Israel.I went in'88,and felt like I had definitely been there before.Jeruselem especially.Just that gut reaction that yes,I had lived here before.

Sure, it's a zombie thread, but it's still a fun topic, and I wasn't around for it the first time.

I've always loved British things, even though I was born in New York State and live in Massachusetts now.

And I've always kind of felt drawn to the 1950s.

I didn't reply 10 years ago so I will this time around. I feel at home in Key West. We are regularly mistaken for locals when we are there. We'll be there again next week!

Okay, so where I'm drawn to may seem like it's a typical place and that everyone's drawn to it, but I can guarantee you, very few people are drawn to it the way I am. Anyways, my place is the state of Hawaii. Ever since I was little, the only place I've ever wanted to go to on vacation was there. On my paperwork, I always used to mark off Pacific Hawaiian for my ethnicity, even though I'm only your average white person. Although I don't check it off anymore, I still greatly envy people who can. I've spent hours of my life researching great places to go in Hawaii and native tradition of the people who live. I even tried to teach myself how to hula! I literally LOVE Lilo and Stitch so much, hence my username. I want to be her. I have watched all five movies (if you didn't know, there are five), and all the episodes of the series (if you also didn't know, there's a series). I love it so much because it makes me feel like I'm there... at home. Living in Santa Monica, I have access to a beach. I know how to surf and swim and all that stuff, but I still can't wait for the day I can do it there. And oh, just something about being on an island, it makes me so happy! You're just, surrounded by water. So, being a person that has such a HUGE passion for the beach, that's just amazing. My love for the beach is so indescribable, but one way I could translate it is Moana. Yeah yeah, everyone wants to be Moana. Everyone feels like they could be Moana. But I know I AM Moana. And I know this is different. The minute I watched the movie, just, that's me. Oh.... how I wish I could just be there right now :(

I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. I always wondered why some of us feel a certain tie to a culture or place. Is it a part of our family history or just pure interest. It reminded me of a girl YouTube video of a girl who felt a certain tie to another country that she was interested in, and she took a ancestry DNA test and found out she was 20% of the ethnicity that she was so fascinated with. It was amazing because it was random and completely different from the rest of her genetic makeup. Sometimes I wonder do we feels things for a reason.

When I was younger I was always drawn to the Latin culture. I fell in love with music, food, language and traditions. I was fascinated with the Islands of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. I was also fascinated with South American countries like Colombia and Peru. But out of all of them I felt more of a connection to Dominican Republic. I was just drawn to culture. I finally got the opportunity to go to Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico was really nice, but when I was in Dominican Republic I felt a strong connection. And when I had to leave I felt a sad feeling, like I was leaving the place I belonged to. While I was there the tour guide asked me if I was Latin because it looked like I was from there. ...... makes you wonder. I always wondered about my dad's dad. He died so long ago and there's no paper trail. My grandmother did like Latin men. Things that make you think ...
