I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. I always wondered why some of us feel a certain tie to a culture or place. Is it a part of our family history or just pure interest. It reminded me of a girl YouTube video of a girl who felt a certain tie to another country that she was interested in, and she took a ancestry DNA test and found out she was 20% of the ethnicity that she was so fascinated with. It was amazing because it was random and completely different from the rest of her genetic makeup. Sometimes I wonder do we feels things for a reason.
When I was younger I was always drawn to the Latin culture. I fell in love with music, food, language and traditions. I was fascinated with the Islands of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba. I was also fascinated with South American countries like Colombia and Peru. But out of all of them I felt more of a connection to Dominican Republic. I was just drawn to culture. I finally got the opportunity to go to Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico was really nice, but when I was in Dominican Republic I felt a strong connection. And when I had to leave I felt a sad feeling, like I was leaving the place I belonged to. While I was there the tour guide asked me if I was Latin because it looked like I was from there. ...... makes you wonder. I always wondered about my dad's dad. He died so long ago and there's no paper trail. My grandmother did like Latin men. Things that make you think ...
