Do you ever "clock watch" at work?

Is it 5:00 OClock yet? Thank God it's Friday!

Those are some of the most common sayings in an office or factory. I talk to alot of people who spend most of their work day looking at the clock trying to move it along alittle faster, usually without much success.

So are you one of those clock watchers at work?

I used to work in a casino

NO CLOCKS

:wave2:

Sheesh, not like they are. But I do have to watch to make sure I don't get too much over. Like yesterday, I was busy and not paying attention to the time and worked 15 minutes longer than I was supposed to. One of my co-workers is a stickler for things like that and come over to remind me to go home.
But some days, I'm hoping for the end of the day.

I don't have time to clock watch, let alone surf the net while on company time.

I'm too busy doing the job I'm paid for.

You are quite the conversation starter, Chubroach!

No, I do not clock watch at work. I'm there 4 hours at most and not every day, and that time flies.

I am so BORED at my job that I count the MINUTES until it's time to go home.

I've been working 1/2 days since November because of chemo treatments and only work from 8-12 now and when I go back to full days (at some point in time it's inevitable), it's going to be a MAJOR adjustment.

I'm hoping to get a part time job closer to home by then and not have to worry about that rush hour traffic at 5PM.

I constantly am looking at the clocks (about every five minutes) in most of my classes!

I had this horrible job in college alphabetizing card catalogues in the library (before computers). It would seem like an ETERNITY and about 3 minutes would have gone by.

I just could not stand it. Fortunately I didn't have any trouble getting another job as my family was below the poverty level and the Federal government paid 90% of my wages. I was in high demand at the college since it was very cheap for them to hire me.

No way. I'm way too busy. The only time I watch the clock is when I'm in surgery or at lunch and I need to how long I have until my next appointments start. EVERY once in a blue moon we'll finish up before closing time and we'll all be holding our breath hoping that no emergencies come in before close.

School was a totally different story, especially during those many classes where I was fighting off sleep with every ounce of energy in my body. It didn't always work. :faint:

Nope, I am way too busy, with all the students!

In school, I don't clock watch either, I am too engrossed in the classs (either that, or I have had some interesting professors)

At my school the kids are the clock watchers. I have never seen anything like it. At the beginning of school our system was struck by lightening and knocked out our clocks and it was great. Not only did time seem to fly when you couldn't look up at the clock but the kids worked better.

I have to watch the clock to know what time it is and what we should be doing, to mark down things and times, but I do not clock watch in the sense that I am so bored I just want it to be over. I am really busy all day, and I love my job, and my kids. (I teach at a preschool)

Yes! I admit it!

(its 9:28 am )

But this time of year, the Real Estate business in this area of mostly resort and vacation homes is very slow and I have to hold down the office by myself all day.

(it's 9:29 am)

But I am one who is always "aware" of the time, or which direction I am looking toward. North, South, whatever.

(its 9:30am)

And I can't stand it when I do not have my watch. Drives me crazy.

(it's 9:31 am)

There are occasional days I clock watch at home. You know, the days when DD has multiple temper tantrums, the dog gets out of the yard, DS refuses to eat or drink, DD and DS spend the day fighting or saying "I want..." and a pen expodes in the wash. On those days I'm looking at the clock, praying for six oclock to come so DH can take over and I can get away for a little while.
