Do you ever associate a song with a person...?

I've found that I often associate certain songs with particular people or events and every time I hear that song I think of that person. I thought about this because I was at my sister's and she was laughing about how she can't hear the song "Chantilly Lace" by the Big Bopper without thinking about my dd Ashli when she was little (Ashli loved that song, played it all the time and she was definitely a "big-eyed girl" and had her "ponytail hangin' down").
I know what she means though, I relate certain songs to people either because they liked and/or sang or played the song a lot themselves or because the words of the song sound like that person to me.

I always do. I think about the first boy I ever danced with when I hear "Everytime you go" by Paul somebody (can't remember that part!). Nearly every single boyfriend has a song that I relate them to. Friends are the same way.

It's like a familiar scent....it takes you back!

Chantilly Lace brings my favorite uncle to mind. He loved that song, and it was probably the only thing I ever heard him sing!

My kids like it too. Thanks for the smile this morning.

"The Joker" reminds me of my ex-boyfriend!! :hyper:

With Michael Jackson's new CD "No. Ones", we were just recently discussing how his song "The Way You Make Me Feel" reminds me of when my DD17 was a baby in her carseat. When that song would come on the car stereo, she would take both of her hands and kind of twist them to the beat of the music. It was so cute!

And when they got to the part "you knock me offa my feet" we would always sing "you have such stinky feet" and she would laugh and say "Noooooo I don't!"

Brings back memories...

Yes.:)

I agree with Amy.:) Musicovision (yes, I made up that word;)) is a lot like smellovision (I don't think I made up that word though:p ).

Shirley,

Your management team can get you another one. Yes, there's a fee associated, but I had a CM in a similar situation a few years ago and our DM waived the fee.

Just think, if you get a new ID, it will automatically have 2004 on it and you won't need a sticker!

Oh yeah, I have songs that remind me of places, people and my dog...

"If you leave me now" by Chicago always reminds me of a trip when I was 10, driving home at 2am on the NY Thruway because Ramada goofed and reserved us a hotel room in NC, not NY!

"When you say nothing at all" by Alison Krauss always reminds me of driving back from the vets a few hours before my dog died.

"Anything for You" by Gloria Estefan always reminds me of my dad.

"Mambo no 5" by Lou Bega reminds me of when I worked at Outback!

I could go on forever about song associations...

BTW, "Everytime you go away" is by Paul Young, not the Paul Young that died recently, the other one.

Ditto! I was so in love in the 80's! "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was Eric, "Hello" was John and anything by Journey was Bob....and I hadn't even made it to college yet :)

Count me in for the late 90's, and 00's (is that correct?). The one song that comes to mind is "I Swear" by All 4 One (I think). 8 years later this song tugs at me because it reminds me of the first boy to break my heart.

music is such a big part of our lives we have a ton of songs associated with many situations in our lives....

Somewhere out there (Fievel goes west) when my DS was born
A Childs Prayer (when my DD was born)
Close to you (my very first sweetheart in the first grade) ahhh...sweet memories...just to name a few!
