I'll do anything to get out of staying overnight at someone else's house, I like my bed and routine. As I've got older, there's no place like home! :thumbsup2

I'd rather stay at a hotel than someone else's home any day. I'd also rather people stay at a hotel than stay with me - we don't have a spare bedroom and I would like them to have their privacy.

I like it most of the time--kind of depends on who it is. When we travel to England, we stay with my IL's but they're wonderful hosts and have plenty of room--it's not like we're sleeping on the sofa. We have our own bedroom and bathroom.

I also like staying at my sister's house.

Would rather stay at a hotel but it really depends on whose house it is.

Some people are very good at making you feel comfortable no matter what.

I prefer a hotel. I just like having my own space, and being able to come and go w/o causing a disturbance. Too, I don't like using other peoples bathrooms. It's not like a hotel's bathroom is better, but there's just something about staying w/ someone and using their bathroom I don't like. I'm strange...

No I hate staying at others homes. I stay at a hotel first before I would stay at someone home

Yes, I have really come to love and appreciate our own home. We love traveling and visiting though, and that usually involves an overnight stay somewhere. We are a family of five so I always feel like we are stomping into someone's home like a herd of elephants with luggage, and if we stay in an hotel, we pay a high price to sleep crowded and uncomfortable. All five of us crowd into 2 double beds unless we manage to get a roll away bed. When given the choice, I had much rather go to a hotel and sleep crowded. :crowded:

I would rather stay at a hotel. I always feel like I'm imposing when I stay at someone's house, even with family and even when I know I'm am more than welcome.

It depends on who it is. I feel very comfortable staying with some friends but sometimes with certain family members, it feels odd. It's also difficult when they stay with us because we don't have the space. I think that's our fault though.

I'm usually uncomfortable in other people's homes just visiting. I'm even more so when I have to stay overnight.

But sometimes a hotel room is just not feasible. :(

I hate staying at others homes also. If I can't have my own bed, which I prefer, I would rather be in a hotel. I just feel like I have to walk on pins and needles in someone else's house, even family.

I do not want to have a guest or be a guest. I would rather stay in a hotel and, quite honestly, I don't want overnight guests in my home.

Now, I may break my own rule because my sister moved to Ft. Lauderdale recently and I may go down to visit her. She wants me to stay with her. Of course, she is my sister, so I think I can do it! :goodvibes

We really don't like staying at my parents house. Their floors are creeky, so everytime someone's up everyone in the house knows about it. And, mom goes to bed early so everyone has to try and be quiet so we don't all wake her up...

Well like others, I rather stay at a hotel then at somebody elses house. Of course, if it is a short stay a hotel is great. BUT...when we go visit family it usually it is a week or more, and well that could just add up. We stay with my parents in Florida, they have a 2 bedroom condo. It is fine for the most part, but the kids get bored there LOL..

I hate imposing on people(really dont feel that way with my parents;) ), but other people. We are a family of 5, and we are the loud family LOL:lmao:
So I would hope most people close to us know that and there for wont invite us to stay with them, so it we wont have to make a decision.

I actually dont mind people staying with us. It doesnt happen very often, maybe thats why.

Its hard staying with people when you are on different schedules. We have a hard time with my parents at times.. For example we all get up early. Me and my husband are up early, shower and dressed for the day. The kids get up, do their bathroom thing and dressed. We all then eat breakfast. My parents dont eat right away, my mom takes a medicine, that she has to take on an empty stomach and then wait an hour. They dont eat their breakfast until close to 10am, but then we are almost ready for lunch;)
We like to eat dinner early 5ish or close to 6 the latest. I suppose when we had the kids we pushed up dinner time. I prefer early dinner, hate going to bed on a full stomach. My parents arent ready to eat until 7pm most nights, but make consessions for us:sad2: I know they are probably glad when we leave.

We may go visit my husbands family this summer, and have to stay with his sister and brother in law..They have no kids. They are on completely opposite schedules from us. They have no problem staying up until midnight, 1 or 2am, and sleeping until noon. Where we are in bed no later then 10, and up between 7am-8am. They like to lounge around until noon time(well if they arent working, he works, she doesnt). We like to get up and go do things, expecially if we are on vacation. They like to sit around , watch tv,nap etc...

So these are some differences why it is hard to stay with people

It depends on the reason I am staying over for!:smokin:

We re considering getting an RV so I can take "home" with us. After our beach rental last summer .... it is 4+ star hotels for me from now on....

yes. I'd rather stay in a hotel which I love than someone else's house...even a very close friend. A hotel is different, but staying at someone's house even a close friend I feel like I"m intruding, I feel weird about going on with my normal nighttime routine, I feel out of place. I dont' know why...I've just always been that way.
