Do you collect any certain brand, style or designer Christmas ornaments?

My aunt loved Hallmark ornaments and gave me a ton of them -but I don't know I find a lot of them cheap looking. Maybe it is because so many are plastic. I kept the ones I liked (some very nice silver ones, a few Disney) and sold the rest on Ebay. I like silver and gold ornaments. The blue and silver sounds nice too. I also collect Department 56.

DH collects Donald Duck ornaments. He has his own tree in his study. I collect cats ornaments and have them on a separate tree.

As a family we purchase an ornament everytime we go on a trip. We started this on our honeymoon. We also get one with the year on it-- we started this one the first Christmas we were dating.

I collect Goofy ornaments. I have over 50 different Goofy ornaments. I've been known to ask people for Goofy ornaments off their trees if I don't have one that they have. Someday, I hope to have an all Goofy tree :)

Our whole tree is done w/ Disney ornaments and we have a Mickey train around the bottom. Most of our other decorations around the house are Disney also. We even have an outdoor light set w/ Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy!

We have been looking for some type of Disney garland for the tree, but can't find any.

Well our tree is a hodgepodge of things. Mu Dh loves the hand painted ornaments from Pier 1 that came in the colored velvet box (can't think of the name of them). We seem to have sevreal red, white, and blue ornaments (probably b/c we are military). I happen to love angels and nativity scenes and have several that I put out and keep one out all year long. We went to WDW last year during my husband's R&R and it seemed like bought out the place, so we have a bunch of disney too. For a couple that has only been married 20 months, we are doing well in ornaments.

Reading this thread makes me want to get them out and look at them and think about all the love and thought that was put into each one. Thank you for thinking of this topic.

This is going to sound ridiculous but I collect those tops of the M&M tubes of candy.......I'm sure you know what I'm talking about!:o :teeth:

DH buys me a Christopher Radko every year for the past 3 or 4 years so I have those. I also buy the kids an ornament every year which is usually something to match their personality or what they are currently "into" (sports, instrument, toy, etc.). In addition, whenever we travel I buy an ornament so it's really nice to remember each vacation as we decorate the tree. My best friend also gives me an ornament every year. I don't think we have any ornaments that DON'T mean anything.

Isn't it nice lovemygoofy/Tina to read through the thread! :) It's nice to read how precious our loved ones are to us and how special the moments are that we've captured over the years, whether it be in a special store bought ornament or one someone has made for us. I love reading everyone's replies too. :) :)

Kitty! LOL! I know exactly which ones you're talking about! I collect the Easter ones if I like them! Well okay, I only have two long eared, buck toothed rabbits. LOL! They're for my "someday desk" if I ever get out of school. :p ;)

I collect White House Christmas ornaments. You can get them from the White House Historical Association and they are really beautiful. They have a new theme each year i.e, one year they had a 200th anniversary of the White house. I have one for each year dating back to 1984.

I like Christmas decorations---all of them not just the ornaments. I am limiting myself now to Eeyore and cat ornaments. My cat even likes Eeyore ornaments---takes them off the tree for "playtime"!!!!! I need to get a few more trees to display them all. Does anyone have any suggestions as to decorative and innoventive ways of displaying the ornaments???

We LOVE Christmas trees and usually have 3 - sometimes 4.
The main tree has the children's ornaments over the years and miscellaneous everything else.

We also have our "Tacky Texas Tree" - it's alot of fun - it has cowboys, chili peppers - cowbells - anything that goes along with the theme.

We collect Three Wise Men decorations and try to send out Three Wise Men Christmas cards each year as we were told that is good luck. Must be the irish blood that latches on to the "good luck".

We also celebrate the three wise men the first week of January.

This makes me miss Christmas so Merry Christmas to all!!

Mine are displayed on shelves or hanging from a shelf. I use invisable thread to hang them with, I've got a few hanging over the pass-through between the den & kitchen. Some are just on the wall with a push pin.

I use tacky wax (it's in the doll house section at the hobby store) to help some of them stand that normally don't.

For xmas you can also use them in wreaths. Easy to a smaller theme that way.
