I often check to see which country the food came from, especially meat. Also what's in pre-packaged food/ready meals (i.e., the ingredients).

I rarely look at the nutrional information, such as calories, fat, & sugars unless I'm on a diet.

And I always check the use by/sell by date.

Overall, I'm a sometimes. :)

Yep, having someone in the family with food allergies will do that to you. Sometimes I have to read it 3 or 4 times before I determine if it is "safe". For the most part I know what is or isn't now, but things change.

ALWAYS.

I compare different products for Fats, Sodium, Sugar, Fiber and Cholesterol levels.

I'm always on the look out for High Fructose Corn Syrup. It's in sooo much, and I really want us to avoid it.

I try to avoid partially hydrogenated oils. They are from the devil! :scared1:

Yes,me and my DD have food allergys so i have to read the ingrediants. My DD also has diabetes and is on the insulin pump so I need to check the carbs.

Weight Watchers will cause you to check nutritional labels also. Calories, Fat and Fiber!

And if the product is sugar-free, I need to check that the sugar substitute is NOT aspartame. Aspartame makes me

I don't. But DD7 does. I think she is obsessed.

Not often unless its on a overbake rack(things like cookies and the sort) for a x-date

I always do too. Especially the experation date. I need to check for salt contents since I have high blood pressure. Even though once in a great while I go on a cashew kick. :rotfl2:

The only thing I check is the exp date on bread, and anything dairy.

Yep. Every single time!
Celiac Disease will do that to ya!

More often than sometimes, but not always. Let's go with frequently. :)

I check expiration dates on just about everything. Once you get your basic "buy it all the time" items, it's not such a big deal to check the labels all of the time.

Now, if you were to ask me if I check my dogfood labels....that is an ALWAYS! Deuce has a severe poultry allergy...if it has feathers, it makes him miserable. So, we are very cautious about his food and his treats. Luckily, Perdita and Cinderella are fine with whatever we give them. If the label only lists "animal fat", "animal meal", or "bone meal" then we don't buy it. With dog food, the manufacturers aren't really that careful about fat actually just being fat....sometimes, there is a little of the protien from the source too. Chicken and chicken by-products are cheap and dogfood manufacturers use it a lot.

Luckily, the cats are easy! We only check expiration dates on their food. Maggie
