During our last trip, we attended a bunch of character meals, as well as the Luau and HDDR. We bought all but one set of pics. Do you generally buy them?

Just wondering, as we will be visiting WDW in 2 weeks and have a lot of character meals on the agenda. I already bought the Photopass CD deal for $99 and really don't feel like shelling the cash for all those photos. (I know the photopass folks won't be in charge of the pics at the meals).

yeah my wife falls for that everytime. They usually are nice pictures, but i can assure you they do not pressure you into buying them there. If you like get it, if not, dont

Nope. We got our CRT pics because they came with our meal but skipped the rest. I did take my own pics of the kids at each character meals photo op though.

We never bought any of them. We get the ones at Akershus and CRT because they come with the meal. Otherwise, never have gotten any others. Find them way too expensive. Actually, we never even pose for them in the first place, since we know there is no way I will buy them.

When we attended those picture events, we got attitude from the staff if we refused. For example, our first event was the Luau. We weren't dressed up, the kids were grumpy and clearly, we weren't going to make a good pic. When we told the CM "no thanks", she insisted we do it, saying we don't have to purchase them, etc. So, we did it. We were met with the same level of pushiness when we told the Ohana folks we didn't want to take the pics. That time, we stuck to our guns but they made it a bad experience. They spent at least 1 minute explaining why we should have the pictures, etc. The receptionist, the photographer, the lady talking us into it, were all looking at us and it felt uncomfortable, as if it was so rare for someone to refuse. Everyone around us was getting their pics taken.

What do you say to bypass the picture?

I had a very opposite experience at CM when I refused earlier this spring.

But I don't get them. They are pricey is the main reason.

We only get them if they are unusually awesome. We also refuse quite a bit and I've never had anyone be pushy or bugged about it...though I'm sure it happens now and then. :)

Nope. We always by pass the photo op at CM and Hoop. That way we don't have to refuse anything. Unless the pic comes with the meal we skip it. I don't need 3-4 of the same pic in various sizes.

We always get them. I know they are pricey, but so is a WDW vacation generally. We have a lot of fun looking back over the years of our various trips to CMs and other places where they do them.

I don't usually get the whole package, though. I ask what the minimum purchase is, which is usually one 5x7.

We bought our 'Ohana picture last year. We were staying at Poly and the pic looked good, plus we weren't doing the PhotoPass CD, so I figured I'd shell out the money. That's the only time we've done it though. When we've purchased the CD I can't really justify it because I figure we'll be getting lots of other family shots -- plus sometimes the photo is just downright bad :rotfl:.

Us either. I actually skip the photo line everywhere but the restaurants where the picture is included.

We are not photogenic :lmao: ... so I have no problem turning down photos at events like these if I don't like them. Even our included-in-the-price photos at CRT were terrible; somehow the photographer managed to get me with my eyes so wide open I look incredibly startled, like .

Yes, I usually buy them except for AK (b/c we went 2x for breakfast that week and told them we got it already and the CM said no problem and we did not take our pictures). I like it b/c its a family picture (I'm the one ususally taking all the pictures.
