Do you buy a package for WDW or buy room & tickets separate? Especially w/AAA?

I was just wondering which way was the cheaper way to go. Now that I've booked a room only reservation and bought my tickets separately! (Just for future reference I was wondering.) I booked my room with the AAA discount and also bought the park tickets through AAA. I believe it was cheaper to do it this way then to buy a package through Disney. But I think a package through AAA may have been a good deal. Anyone know for sure? I should have checked before I booked my room and bought my tickets (don't know why I didn't, just assumed it would be more expensive). :confused3 :sad2:
Oh well, now I know for next time!

on all of our trips i book sep. also. i book room with aaa. and i do not like to fly so i book amtrak sep. to. a couple of years we had 1 or 2 days of tickets left and then bought more when we got there. now you have to pay for no expiration tickets. i am deciding right now whether we can fit a ttrip in a round halloween week, my husbands b.day.but the train prices are a little high. the closer the trip the more the train prices are. it stinks, cause i do not fly.............

In the past, we've booked room and tickets separately through CRO and AAA. We've also bought tickets from undercovertourist with the mousesavers discount (see www.mousesavers.com). We're planning our next family trip for July, 2007, and I'll probably look at the packages when they get released and run the math to see which way we come out better...

The first two trips everything purchased separate.
The last one and all future trips will be package because we loved the dining plan. :cheer2:
