When I go on vacation with the DH and two kids (8 1/2 and 5) I like to bring some medicine with me. Dh is more of the "don't bring it, we can always get it" type, but since I do the packing, I bring what I want.

I always bring (for the kids) some cough medicine, some cold medicine, some tylenol/motrin, some tummy stuff.

I also bring some grown up medicine too. I hate to be without it, just in case.

Do you all do the same and what do you bring?

Yes, I always bring Motrin & cold med for dd. I figure it's what's been keeping her from getting sick each vacation!! It's easy to throw in & doesn't take up alot of room.

One thing I always take is eye/ear drops
My ds swims alot and i find it helps with the red eye and swimmers ear.

I always take a bag of medicine LOL The last think I want to do is have to go out and a resort price for a bottle of advil when I only need 2, you know? And when you decide you could use a pepto caplet, who wants to wait?

I always bring, DD's ear drops, chewable tylenol, cold/sinus medicine, aleve/advil or something for us, pepto caplets ( I don't do liquid LOL) tums, cold/flu meds just in case (never used those though) and our vitamins. I think that's it.

I always pack a basic first aid kit with a variety of OTC medicine for DH, DD and myself. I don't want to have to hunt around for it on vacation or pay resort prices.

Yes, but not much. I pack my own emergency type kit for most trips. Just 2-4 tylenol and 2-4 triaminic (both soft chews) for the kids. A few sizes of assorted bandaids and some travel size antibiotic cream. Adult pain releiver sample packs and a roll of antacids. There may be a couple more things but basicly just enough to by if needed.

I carry a small bottle of tylenol in my purse and if driving, I also have Bayer in the car. After traveling with my mother-in-law, I also started taking motion sickness meds. but that is it.

For medicine I usually just take Advil for headaches. For DD i bring Children's Tylenol and a thermometer- just in case! :)

We don't go anywhere without liquid pain reliever (Motrin, Tylenol or Advil) and Benadryl for our two allergy sufferers. Last time we went to O'Hana's for breakfast, I had a severe problem with my allergies ...runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes. I was miserable until I got out of there!

Yup, I bring that and more. I bring everything in a small bag in my waist pack...I bring bandaids, moleskin and clippers, alargy meds, cold tabs and some non-med things like gum and rolls of lifesavers.

I found a small (7"x7") square First Aid bag, with a velcro top. I carry Benadryl, pain relief (Advil or Tylenol), heartburn meds, "lower tummy trouble" meds, a few bandaids, motion sickness stuff, gas relief stuff and cold/flu medicine and antibiotic ear drops(I have terrible trouble with my ears)... Just a few of everything for both DH and I and for the kids. I can't stand to buy it at the resort, and some of it would only be available if we went to a Walgreens or something off property. I keep it packed all the time, and even take it on day trips to Sea World or to visit friends, anytime we'll be away for a full day.

I definitely bring Children's Tylenol but don't really worry about other meds as we can get it once we are there. I had a bad case of - well I had to go the potty - and was able to buy Pepto Bismol caplets from behind the counter at a shop in PI.

One thing I will definitely not go w/o this trip is our ear thermometer. Last year while in Ft Myers both our boys came down with fevers in the middle of the night. I knew they were starting to burn up but didn't really know what their temperatures were. I gave them Children's Tylenol anyway and sent my husband out at 2 am to try to find a store that was open to buy another cheap thermometer. I was glad I did because I was right about the temps. Glad I gave the CT and continued to watch them through the next day. Thankfully, it was a one day bug. Lesson learned for me!

I rarely argue with my wife bringing anything unless it's the kingsize version. I am also of the opinion that you can get it there but, it is always good to bring enough to carry you at least a day in case you can't get what you need right away.

I bring a few medications too especially Tylenol and Motrin. I also definetly bring Tums need them sometimes after all that eating! I also bring all of our usual vitamins & my calcium tablets. Also bring some echincea/goldenseal just in case!

Just a few things, pain reliever for DH & DD, bandaids and cold medicine.

I never go anywhere without bandaids
plus for long trips plenty of meds
eyedrops, tweezers, scissors, tums, qtips, sunscreen, aloe,
always take more than we need but won't pay resort prices

Yes I bring a smaller version of our medicine cabinet. I'd rather not pay Disney prices on the meds. I always make sure Benadryl is included. We had an incident where my 11 month old cousin had an moderate allergic reaction to the scrabbled eggs at Chef Mickey's. We later found out from the chef that they are made from powered eggs and have more whites than yolks. Benadryl definetely saved that day.

I brought what everyone suggested.. Except I add benadryl cream for bug bites.. As we did get a lot on our last trip.. 3 days ago.. and Immodium AD... I was thankful for that at 3am...

Also we gave our DS2 bottled water as he sometimes gets the runs...

I bring all of that stuff and store it in a plastic rubbermaid type tub in my luggage - If I didn't, it never fails that I need something like that and the prices on Disney property are so-o-o expensive. I also feel more comfortable having something that I know rather than buying something away and trying it for the frist time.
