Hmmmmm. Not sure how to answer that. Sometimes the folks at home need more charity than anyone else I know.
I work at a county hospital so charity is something I see everyday. I get to play my part and sometimes am able to go above and beyond, which makes me feel really great.
I think charity should be offered anywhere it is perceived to be needed. Sometimes the smallest expression of kindness can be a huge act of charity.
I think charity most definitely begins at home, just don't let that be the only place you give it.
Many times the very people that live under your roof need far more love, understanding and support than you could ever imagine and while you may not give to them financially like you would an outside charity, your time and attention to their needs could mean the world to them. Sometimes charity at home is the hardest to give because many times we just can't see how a family member is truly hurting or struggling.
That being said, I do a lot of volunteer work with the homeless and needy and also contribute to other charities. So while I truly believe that charity does begin at home, I also believe it needs to extend beyond those boundaries.
