Do you believe in a Soul Mate?

I believe in a soul mate. I think many people never find theirs.

I think if you believe in the idea of a soulmate. Then you have a soulmate.

I dont believe in it. The world is too vast to limit my connectivity with one person.

That's a really neat way to look at it, Steph.

I think I am the kind of person who doesn't believe in a soul mate because I live by the motto I am responsible for my own happiness, and I cannot rely on someone else to make me happy. Plus the coincidence factor (others may call it fate) that is hard for me to swallow. It's just a different way of looking at my life and my relationship - not that it is any better than anyone else's way of looking at it, just different.

I am not sure what I believe. I want to believe that we have a soul mate out there.. and in time we find "them". So far, my search has only brought me some toads.

Im the same way. I make my life happy. No one else is responsible for that. :)

And its all about how you look at it.

Some woman are happy in relationships with controlling, abusive men.

Some men are happy in relationships with selfish, conceited woman.

To them, that person is their soulmate. Personal judgement...

The rest of us look on and say.. 'well i wouldnt deal with that'

But theyre happy.

I don't believe there is only one soul mate out there for each person. It's all too random and there are far too many people in the world to think there is one single person meant for me.

I love my DH with all my heart, and I think we make a great match. My feelings are no reflection on our relationship. But if something (God forbid) were to happen to him, I truly believe I could find someone else who I would be just as compatible with, and love just as much. And I think he could do the same (and I would want him to).

This very well could have been written by me. I just wanted to add that soul mate by definition is just one person. The idea of soul mate is just silly to me. If you love someone and have a connection with them, you can have a great relationship without being soulmates.

No, not really. I think there are many possible people for each one of us.

I don't think there is just one person out there for anyone. If that were the case, most people would never meet their soul mate. I believe there may be several people out there for everyone.

i have mine ..and he feels the same we each pic up where the other falters ..
