Do you and your spouse/SO agree about your favorite DVC resort?

DH and I definitely don't agree! We live in FL, so we go pretty frequently. If we're just going for a weekend, I'm game for anything and DH pretty much is too. If we're going for a week, it's much tougher. I much prefer OKW for #1) theming (sp?), #2) the fact that we can park right in front of our unit (BIG deal when we're dealing with a baby, stroller, too much luggage, etc.), size of the units, and the fact that the quiet pools are actually not too busy (nice with the baby). OKW also feels so relaxing to me.

DH says that he doesn't like having to drive everywhere from OKW, so he prefers the Epcot area. I don't mind BWV and BCV, but I hate being in such a "busy" area for an entire week. I especially hate having to park so far away from our unit. We drive everywhere anyways, so that is a big pain to me!! DH told me yesterday that he wouldn't want to stay at the Villas at the AKL for longer than a weekend because of the location, whereas I think that that would be a great place to spend a week because it's away from all the commotion. Anyways, I was just wondering who else has this situation and how they handle it? Do you alternate choosing resorts for the longer vacations

We also disagree about our favorite resort! I love BCV for the pool and BC Marketplace, DH loves the BWV. We own at both, but the last few trips we have only stayed at BCV and used our BWV points for cruises. So, he is getting antsy about me always getting to stay at my fav and never his! We were going to go on another cruise this fall, but I suggested we go to F&W and stay at BWV so that is what we are doing!
So, yes we try to alternate our fav, but it is easier because they are the two resorts we own!

Not only do DH and I disagree, DS10 (a very opinionated Disney fan and self-proclaimed "future Imagineer" himself) disagrees with both of us!!

It gets more complicated when you factor in that DH does not really feel the love for DS10's favorite resort and DS10 does not have the love for MY favorite. (Darn those opinionated older children!)

DH's favorite resort is SSR - and the rest of the family ranks it at #2. We handle it by staying there one trip each year and we alternate the other trips between DS and my favorites - hitting each one every other year. We like all three of our top resorts an awful lot, and we own where we stay most often, so we're happy campers.

I *think* we'll all agree to love AKV and may add-on there. I could see it being #1 for all of us. I'm anxious to hear the details and see a mock-up of the rooms!

Looks like we got lucky! WL/VWL was something that appealed dramatically to both DW & I from the moment we stepped foot in it. And after one stay at BWV, we mutually agreed that we needed to own points there too.

I will say that I'd like to stay at BCV or SSR some time, but DW has absolutely zero interest in that. And we have stayed at OKW which she doesn't care for but I enjoy quite a bit.

We are the opposite (but with the same resorts) DH LOVES OKW (as do I) but I put it at #2..... I love BWV.....I love being so close to my favorite park. So we prtty much handle it the same way.

One trip he picks, next one I do. But I usually will let my 14yr DD have a say in it as well. She loves both, so we usually alter between the 2.

DH and I are just the opposite. His first (actually only) choice is OKW-if he can't stay there, he'll stay home, he said! Although my first choice is BCV, I also like BWV. Fortunately, I like OKW too. The only way we can figure to both get our way is that we go together every year, staying at OKW. Then I go solo once a year (something I'd done before we joined DVC too) and I always try to stay at BCV. We own 210 points at OKW, to "fund" our trips in a 1 BR, then 100 points at BCV, for my solo trips.
Oh, yeah-and both DSs' favorite is BWV. Thank goodness they're adults and don't vacation with us any more, so they can go wherever they want.

We agree. Our favorite is BCV.

We both enjoy OKW too but miss the short walk into Epcot and the restaurant choices as well as room service. I thought he didn't care for OKW that much after his first and only stay there but I misinterpreted his remarks. He liked it a lot but missed the proximity to Epcot. But anyway, it is a solid second choice for us both.

WL looks peaceful but again not many restaurant choices and parking is not as convenient. The parking and elevator situation at BWV is a detriment for us and we just don't care for the bustling atmosphere of the BW at all.

Different strokes but I'm glad that the two of us are in agreement.

We currently agree now: Boardwalk Villas. BUT ... we won't agree soon. I know my DH is going to LOVE AKV.

DW's favorite is SSR. That is why we bought there. She loves the spa, only one in the family that golfs and loves DtD.

I've never stayed at BWV, but love the boardwalk. I've hinted at adding on at either BCV or BWV, but so far no real plans to do so. I do also love SSR. But I want to try all of the resorts at least once. Stayed at BCV on the last trip, going to try and see if we can get into BWV next time (doubt it, planning next trip for late 2007/early 2008 overlapping New Years eve, so I imagine that will be an unlikely wait list opp).

.............we both agree that BCV (where we own) is our favorite DVC resort. At this point we've spent time at all but two---OKW and VB. We've seen an OKW 1 Bdrm and we plan to spend 5 nights at OKW in February. Perhaps after that our fav's will change but I doubt it.

My wife and I agreed and loved SSR and bought in, then we stayed at OKW and the larger size floored us, We stay in one bed room units, we bought into OKW also. Only in America. Have stayed at all the resorts including HH & VB, love all the resorts. the Disney resorts, more fun with all that goes on.Lately we have been staying at BW and booking BW view, wonderful sitting and watching all the lights, boats and people on the BW.

Amazingly, we agree! We both love BWV. I booked us at SSR last march and DH was so unhappy there he told me only BWV (and Vero) from now on.

His favorite is BWV, mine is BCV. Although there have been times where I've wanted to stay at VWL but he put up a good fight to get us in the Epcot Resort area.

Overall, his priority is the Epcot Resort area with BWV being his #1. I love BCV. SO either of those is always a hit in our family.

When we have no choice but SSR, we are a little bummed but overall enjoy our SSR stays. It's a beautiful resort and being so remote does have its perks.

During our annual Food and Wine trip, we prefer BWV because of it's location. For other trips, we like to vary the DVC resorts. Neither of us dislikes any of the DVC resorts enough to stop us from returning. In the DTD area, he'd slightly prefer SSR over OKW because it's newer, whereas I'm fine with either (but I think that it's more of our personality types.........he's a bit "finicky" sometimes.......I'm more "loose-y goose-y" ).
Because we own at BWV and usually get standard view, we probably wouldn't spend the extra points to stay at BCV, although pre-DVC, YC/BC was our favorite resort.

Well, we disagree....but in a good way...it is between which we love, and which we love MORE. For both of us, every DVC resort we've visited so far is wonderful and we are not disappointed with ANY of them. DH says that if never stays anywhere other than SSR, he will be happy as can be!

I make all the reservations, ADR's and so on. So where I book they will follow. I have yet to have any complaints So I guess we all agree!
