I was just saying to my husband, most people we know aren't planners and book things more last minute for trips. Then, I get to come on here and see all my fellow super planners LOL. I have vacations tentatively "planned" for years in advance.
April 2026-hoping to do Universal or some other trip non-Disney since we're going Dec 2025
July 2026-HHI non Disney resort
May 2027-Big Disney and Universal trip for 9 nights (banking and borrowing points hence no DVC booking 2026)

I'm known for being super organised but I don't usually plan my holidays that far in advance. However that has changed over the past couple of years when I've realised I need my holiday plans to look forward to and get me through the working week 😂 so far I've only planned into 2026:

June 2025 - cruise (non-Disney) to the Norwegian fjords - all booked and ready to go
Nov 2025 - possible joint Shanghai/Hong Kong Disney trip - not booked but unlikely I'll change my mind
Oct/Nov 2026 - another return trip to WDW - just in the pipeline atm but it should happen.

Hoping to move house in the first half of 2026 which is scuppering my vacation planning somewhat. And I turn 40 in 2027 so I'm not even going there yet 🤐

I have idea trips in mind past 2028, but they’re not solid. “Solidly” I have:

Disney World November or December 2026
Disney World (2-3 days) and 3-day Wish cruise May, 2028

I would like to visit Universal in 2027, but I do need to save money in between my 2026 and 2028 trip 😅

We have the following tentative plans laid out:

2025 - Epic Universe/Universal in June
2025 - WDW Hallloween Party/2 Park days in October
2026 - Hilton Head Spring Break
2026 - Disney Fantasy in June with 2 days at Disney and 2 at Universal around that
2027 - Disneyland Paris and Mediterranean Cruise with Royal in June/July
2028 - Aulani in June

We did 2 weeks at BRV this past January 2025 (11th-25th) and for the remainder of 2025 we have a long weekend in Hershey in July, a beach trip in August and a cabin in the mountains in November. We were supposed to visit family in France this June but cancelled. We’re booked January 2026 for 11 nights at the Poly (longhouse studio for now) and will book 3 nights at Universal Royal Pacific (which we’ll do before the Disney nights). We usually only do 2 nights there but with Epic we’re doing an extra night. Also doing a non-Disney related 3 week UK tour/trip for just DH and myself in late 2026 for an anniversary gift to ourselves. That’s as far out as we’re planned right now. We have to plan as far out as possible for the DVC trips or there’s no availability and the UK trip is planned so far out because it’s super expensive and I wanted time to pay on it.

2025 is planned. Came to WDW in March. Going to Aulani in July. And, going to try to attend an away NFL game in the fall TBD.

2026 is not planned. This is our year off from using DVC, so we don't have to plan so far in advance. But, our plan is to take a family vacation (adult kids). We've talked about a national park trip (Washington) or possibly London/Paris. Unfortunately, my daughter is a teacher and her job is uncertain with the budget cuts.... so we have no idea what life will look like a year from now.

Booked 18 night Panama Canal cruise with HAL November 2025
Booked WDW January 2026
Booked DLR February 2026
Booked Alaska cruise August 2026 with RCCL
Planned local area trip in March 2026
WDW family trip October 2026

Saratoga is our home, so don’t need to book right at 11 month mark. That being said, I’m only booked through 2025. My kids are in their early 20s, and they’re doing their own things now, so its just me and my husband . They watch our dog though which is so nice

June 2025: 5 nights at Boulder Ridge
October 2025: 5 nights at SSR
December 2025: long weekend at SSR

Other than that we do some weekends in Rehoboth Beach Delaware . My parents live there . I’m not much of a traveler anymore …. I just enjoy being in Disney (plus I like that if I need to get home it’s just a 2 hour flight… we’re in “sandwich “ mode … kids still need us and parents need us too ). I also enjoy the beach.

Our plan for 2026 is shorter trips to see festivals and longer trips summer and October which are our favorite times in Disney.

2025 - probably nothing 😭 (don’t feel too sorry for me though - we’re building our dream home).
April/May 2026 - five nights at hopefully BCV or BWV ahead of the Eastbound Transatlantic on the Disney Dream
September 2026 - European Road trip
February/March 2027 - 14 night split stay (haven’t decided where yet) for the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I'm always planning, but sometimes I need a commitment from my adult kids.
April 2025 - just got back from a week in Amsterdam
October 2025 - solo trip 7 n BCV studio; 3 n BWV studio-split to use up banked BWV points due to an add on.
Aug 31-Sept 6, 2026 - DVC member cruise with DD and hubby, and DS- mom's paying of course. My first time cruising, hope it goes well.
2027 - I'm mulling over a Disney/Universal trip to get a look at Epic Universe. I'm retired, I can go anytime I want, but there's always some back and forth on dates with the kids. I'd also like to fit in a trip to Scotland to visit family. Maybe that will happen in 2026.
2028 and beyond, I know there are more Disney (and other) trips in my future, as long as I'm still fit and well enough to do them.

Already have our April 2026 reservation at AKV Jambo reserved and flight down there, just have to get the flight back reserved and the rental car. I try to make all the reservations at once so that I don't forget airfare or rental car and get stuck paying a lot of money last minute. The wife plans the dining reservations and which park we go to when they come up.

Usually I have at least penciled in plans 2 years out. This year it's WDW and a trip to Boston, 2026 it's NOT WDW and ??? Could be DW's bucket-list trip to Ireland or a cruise. Just for sure not WDW and I don't think that counts as plans.

It counts!

My 2026 is WDW in January hopefully, then Aulani in March or August.

2027…I think we are going to skip WDW and instead visit Taiwan! We have an opportunity to visit family moving there and might as well go. No plans yet but at least an idea in my head.

Now I have to figure out which credit cards to pursue to get the right airline points to hopefully cover a flight or two.
