Hello! This will be our first time using military discount tickets. We are staying at shades of green, and my father-in-law has purchased Florida resident three day tickets for my family. Him and my mil will be arriving to Disney the same day as us, but not until 4 PM. We were hoping to go to the park early in the a.m. and ride rides with the kids before they get there.
I don’t see anything on our tickets that requires a military ID at check-in. It only mentions proof of residency. Since he purchased the tickets at the base do we still need him to be present on our first day of use?

No military ID is ever required for Magic Your Way tickets, FL resident or otherwise. The only ones that require military ID are the salute/military promotional tickets, which are only available as 4- or 5-day park hoppers or park hopper plus.

So assuming you are Florida residents, all you need to do is prove residency.

Doesn't need a military ID, but if it's anything like Disneyland and the Southern CA resident special tickets, you absolutely HAVE to prove your residency for every adult using the tickets. You can't buy them for friends and family to use. He bought the wrong tickets, unless you are all FL residents as well.

Why didn't he buy the Armed Forces Salute tickets?

Are you FL residents, or just your in-laws? Every adult entering on a FL Resident ticket must show proof of residency; thekids are fine as long as the adults have proper ID. If you don't live in FL you will have to upgrade to regular tickets. Or see if your FIL can exchange them for the military MYW tickets (not assigned a discount but less than gate price).

Thanks for the response. Yes we are Florida residents.
