Do we have to check-in at 24 hours on SW if we all have EBCI?

I can't remember if we still have to go on the app or website to check-in if we have EBCI. Thanks!

You don't have to do it right at 24 hours, but if you want to print your boarding pass, or have it sent electronically to your phone, you will need to check in online. I did have an instance where they screwed up my EBCI and checked my DH and DD in at 24 hours, but didn't check me in. I waited until about 22 hours (thinking I was fine since I had EBCI) and I was B56. So I try to check in as close to 24 hours as I can now, even with EBCI. YMMV

Ack! I'll just go on and do it then! It's 24 hours before our flight, correct?

EBCI checks you in at 36 hours before flight time, not 24 hours.

OP, you can print your boarding pass anytime from 24 hours before flight time to waiting until you get to the airport. Or just use a mobile boarding pass.

No need to check in or print your BP if you use the mobile version. With EBCI, you're paying extra for SW to do it all for you at 36 hrs. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the correction. I mis-typed. They do check you in at 36 hours (if they check you in at all - which for me didn't happen).

I agree -- contact Southwest for a refund of your EBCI fee if you do not get checked in automatically. You deserve to get your money back and they need to know there are bugs in their software!

Happend to us and they refunded EBCI.... It was $10 at that time. I remember logging on at the 22 or 21 hour mark and thinking holy &^%$!
I eventually got C16 & C17, so after a conversation with a phone call to a rep got the RT EBCI refunded for both legs but still had the benefit used for the return trip.

Did you ask for your money back for EBCI? I'd be annoyed if that happened!
Yes, I did. I had to call and speak to a special department that was only open M-F 8-5, but after looking through the computer record (I had rebooked this flight multiple times reducing my points each time), she saw what had happened and refunded my $12.50.

If you use the "Change Flight" option, your EBCI should stay in place. It's tied to the reservation number and that stays the same if you do a "Change". If you cancel and rebook, you lose your EBCI. Did you do a cancel/rebook at some point?

I just checked the Southwest website because we have made a couple of changes as well. We still have the little EB next to each of our names so I hope everything goes ok. Thanks!

SWA sent me an email a few months ago saying our return flight home had been pushed back by 15 minites. I went online to view our new times and our EBCI was gone! I had to call and they had to reinstate it. So, it does "disappear" sometimes.

Wow you would think Southwest would know better. Thanks for the warning.

They had actually changed our flight time which required me to call in to make any changes. It was no longer accessible on the website.

A little more unusual of a situation, but somehow they used my return EBCI for my out-bound flight, and then the computer did not see a valid EBCI for my return.

Kind of a cluster, but it all worked out, and I got my $12.50 back and that is all that really matters.
