Do we ask for a specific location or take our chances?

We will be checking into POFQ in 46 days (not that I am counting or anything). I tried to upgrade the room from a standard view to a river view. But, alas, I can't. No big deal. Just saves me a little money. This is a new resort for us. Is there any location I should request? Location to busing doesn't matter. We drive to the parks. And I am looking forward to taking the boat to Disney Springs. Which is why I wanted to upgrade to a river view. I was hoping to be near the boat dock.

Honestly, there isn't a bad section at POFQ. The resort is so small that everything [pool, boat dock, quick service, buses] is within a 5-minute walk. We stayed in a garden view room in Building 1 and, when outside of our room, had a clear view of the Sassagoula River and a 2-minute walk to the dock.

You don't need a river view room to be close to the boat dock at POFQ, one of the main things I love about the resort is how compact it is! Everything is a short walk to everything, it's wonderful. If anything, enjoy the jazz music and beautiful landscaping along the way!

I went back and forth with wanting to upgrade to AKL non savannah view. We will be having a non park day and I love the AK pool. However, I just love the look at FQ. We've stayed at POR, so I am really excited about this. It's nice to know that there isn't a bad location.

We like building 4, we were in a GV room just across from main building, pool, and close to bus and parking lot. My friend had a standard view room and it was just around the corner from my room.

First off, POFQ is very compact--nothing felt too far away to me. But then again, we felt no hesitation walking between POR and POFQ for a meal. I would check out the individual room views on touring plans and discover your ideal standard room location. Then, I would fax in a room request 3-5 days before you arrive stating how excited you are to be staying at POFQ for the first time and your location request (a building, upper or lower floor, close to POR, etc.) I know a lot of people feel like the fax just gets tossed in the trash, but I had phrases repeated back to me verbatim when checking in to POR...plus we got bumped from a standard view to a preferred location.

If you want to be near the boat dock, you can certainly call and have "near boat dock" noted as a request on your reservation.
