Do WDW DELUXE hotels have regular standard rooms anymore?

I've only been to WDW once, back in 2017. I'm looking to head back there again in 2026. There's a chance it will only be DS, then age 6 and me going. Anyway, I'm looking at June 2025 prices just to get a ballpark figure of what I'll be paying in June 2026. Do any of the deluxe resorts have regular standard rooms anymore? I've looked at all deluxe resorts, none of them have standard rooms listed. They're all with views or club levels. And there's NO way all standard rooms at each hotel are all booked for that time. They don't show up at all. Is it wishful thinking to think there's a chance I could get a standard room at Polynesian Village for 500ish a night? Not all the deluxe resorts appeal to me.The other ones, or all of them I should say are really out of my price range. I'm not crazy about 5 hundred a night , but am willing to splurge since I basically never go there. If not deluxe, it will be a value resort. We loved All Star Sports, but a deluxe resort is my dream. ETA-Unfortunately, June is the only time of year we can do WDW.

They actually have MORE standard rooms now. All the garden views at Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk became Standard views. The nature views at Wilderness Lodge also became standard.

Edited: Wrong information. Sorry. Please substitute the word "Standard" with "Resort".

See other posts below for the correct information.

Oh OK. Then that makes sense. Now I just have to hold onto hope that WDW will drop their prices on the deluxe resorts to my ideal price range.....Funny, I know. Lol

I believe "Resort View" is the standard room for the deluxe resorts. Considering the current price, even a 35% discount isn't going to get you a Resort View room at the Poly for $500 per night.

Last year Disney combined Standard View & Garden View room categories into the new Resort View category at all deluxe resorts. So now you’ll see Theme Park View, Water View & Resort View rooms listed. Resort view can be anything from parking lots & roofs to gardens & trees. For Contemporary, the Garden Wing rooms cost less than rooms in the tower, if cost is an issue. The Garden wing will also have Water & Resort View rooms.

You are 100% correct. For some reason the word "resort" eluded my mind when I was typing. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, Resort is the new Standard, Garden, and Nature.

As others have said, there is almost no chance of getting a room at the Polynesian for $500 a night. Rack rates in June start at about $800, and the Polynesian is so popular that the 35% discount that is sometimes offered for deluxe resorts is almost never available there.

You might want to consider why the Polynesian appeals to you, and what other resorts might have the features you want at a price that fits your budget. If it’s monorail access, proximity to Magic Kingdom, and the classic Disney-ness you could consider the Contemporary. If you can snag a 35% discount offer for a Garden Wing room it can come under $500. If you like tropical, beachy theming and an awesome themed pool consider Caribbean Beach Resort. It’s a moderate and less than $400 a night during the summer.

You won't get poly for under $500 without renting DVC points as pointed out previously.

If you want to stay on the monorail loop, the Garden Wing at Contemporary is your best bet. Some people dislike that you aren't in the tower and have to walk over to get to the monorail, but I prefer that. The tower, to me is too loud and hectic, the GW allows me some peace and I am close to the action if I want it.

My other recommendation would be Wilderness Lodge if it appeals to you style wise. It has a boat to the MK and also to the contemporary in the afternoon if you want easy monorail access (can visit Poly), but it also one of the cheaper Deluxe resorts. Only AKL, OKW and SS are cheaper usually. This coming August I actually have DVC room there for $296 a night through Disney.

I love the Polynesian theme. The monorail is definitely a plus. I won't rule out the Contemporary, but it's just so bland looking. I'll be there around 12 days, and put in the "cheapest" room at Poly. For just DS and I, it came to over $11,800 with park tickets. That's just not happening. 😩

Unfortunately that’s the reality of staying at the Poly. Even if discounts are offered, it’s generally at a lower rate than most of the other deluxe resorts. Maybe do a split-stay with a few nights at Poly and the rest of the stay somewhere else? Renting DVC is generally the cheapest option.

I've never done a split stay. I guess it's something to think about. I was very happy with All Star Sports during my stay. Most likely I'll do value again.

Split stays are fun. Even just doing your last two nights at the Poly can make for a really fun trip with a lower average cost per night.

I wonder if the new Poly Island Tower DVCs will affect pricing of the older buildings at all? It'll certainly increase supply. (The new tower opens this Christmas.)

Disney has raised thier pricing so much that the good discounts for 30% or more, are still not bringing down thier Deluxe resorts to a decent price. This will only continue and get worse in the future.

I totally agree. Only a few short years ago I swear a standard room at Poly was in the $500 range. Now all deluxe resorts have classified more rooms as standard in order to raise the prices on the lowest standard room. This is very misleading in my opinion. Why should someone with a view of the parking lot pay the same as someone with a water view? I splurge on Disney vacations, but I'm not going to spend my life savings to go on one.

If you were very happy at AS I don’t think I’d even consider a deluxe. I’d consider Pop for the Skyliner though. There’s nothing quite as bummering as paying too much for your Disney hotel because you spend the time at the hotel saying to yourself “I could have been at that Disney Hotel plus had $XXX in my pocket”

I love Poly too, stayed there once many years ago. But i also love the All Stars. All Star Movies is my fave. As another commenter recommended, try Pop Century or AofA for the Skyliner and their own dedicated buses. We were upgraded. to a Lion King Suite at AofA in January. Super fun! Start saving for a future Poly trip when you get back home :)
