I'm not sure in Florida, but last I saw the California hotel union is forcing them to do so with equipment before housekeeping enters the room, well once they can reopen.

They definitely spray something though, we requested to switch rooms to a better savanna view when we were at AKL last week. They accommodated us but they said they needed to have the room cleared by the housekeeping manager. Once we got to our new room it smelled like it had been sprayed down, it wasn’t an offensive smell as I have a smell issue with strong cleaners. Definitely smelled better than Lysol.
