Do travel agents have access to rooms with military discnt that aren't avail via WDW?

Still frustratingly trying to book 1 or 2 bedroom villa at BLT with military discount for April or May, and getting no availabilty from WDW booking CMs. Do travel agents have access to rooms with these discounts that are "theirs" and are given back to WDW if they go unsold? So, should I also try with a travel agency??

You could try renting from a BLT DVC owner.

I think Travel Agents have to pull from the availability Disney shows. The benefit of them is they do the work for you instead of you having to sit and call trying for rooms. Is BLT offered with the discount? I'd think it would be very limited since Disney has no problem filling those rooms. If I were you and set on my dates I'd book a backup now so you are guaranteed a place to stay and keep trying sporadically for BLT if that's your top choice.

BLT is basically sold out so members own about 97% of the villas. That leaves a lot less for cash reservations through Disney Reservation Center.

Thanks to all who answered. I am able to get a studio with military but not the villas. I am not even sure they were ever available with military...

I am hesitant to rent DVC points because of the inability to cancel should a child/grandparent get sick or something, right before the trip...

I'm having the same problem but with a different resort. We wanted POR but were told all that was available in the moderates with military discount was CSR so that's where we booked for now. Can't believe they have booked all those military discount rooms already. We have been told we can keep trying but for now the others are booked up.

I see now that you have found out the problem with the villa. The military discount rooms can be a little tricky.

We book the same as you, reserve what's available and then call and check over time. All rooms aren't available with the discount. It depends on your dates/type of room/resort. I have found that availability sometimes changes over time.
I was able to change from a standard view to a garden view today--the gv wasn't available a few weeks ago.
The military discount is very helpful, and we find the savings well worth being flexible on room/resort.

Thanks for giving me hope, I'd stay at any moderate they'd give me except the cabins. My problem with CSR is we really need the double sinks and CSR doesn't have them. That seems to be my only issue with them, they get as many bad reviews as everyone else does. We'll take what we can get of course, we love the military discounts.

I think we're chatting on two threads. I do believe calling occasionally--maybe once or twice a week--is helpful.

Lol, yes we are. Thanks for the pixie dust. I just tried calling again and was able to get POR waterview just as I was hoping for. I'm so excited and want to go outside and scream. Best day ever!!!!! Well, at least until we get there. Thanks.

I am so glad one of the guys in my office bought into DVC at BLT and has offered to let me use his points sometime. I think that is the only way I will be able to get there. I have wanted to stay there every since he showed me the pictures of their views......

Thank you so much to all who answered here. I now have some hope that maybe we will be able to add the military discount later to our 1 bedroom villa (I rented to studio on military and then 1 bedroom at rack rate, hoping to turn the 1 bedroom to military sometime before the trip). The 2 bedroom is so much less than a studio + 1 bedroom, but I am not sure the 2 bedroom will ever come up on military, so will take what I can get since I am glad to have the option of military (thank you, Dad!!!). This board is great!!

We have had no problem getting any resort at any level, including DVC and at the last minute. We rented points for even less than the Military discount rate (at BWV) and the man I worked with can be slightly flexible if an emergency occurs. I guess that it may be the time frame you are going.
