Do they still use the older locks in a Panama Canal crossing?


As mentioned above, yes the older locks are in use and if you want the true experience find a CL that still has a ship that fits, Disney does not. The new locks are boring..

I think most HAL cruises are still using the old locks. One thing that can mess things up is the water shortage that Panama has experienced so there may not be a guarantee that they will use the old locks. The new locks reclaim a large majority of the water so the CL may be required to go the new route.
 
I was on the last cruise DCL had going through the old locks on the Wonder. Right after that sailing is when DCL added the duck tail (and refurbished basically the whole ship) which made it too long to fit in the old locks.
