Do they sell shorts for men anywhere at Disneyworld?

I had a very hard time finding shorts after greasing up a pair of mine at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. The selection at both Mouse Gear and World of Disney wasn't very expansive, and what they had was certainly expensive.

If there's any chance he might want to wear shorts, pack 'em.

Sounds to me like his insecurity/self-consciousness is going to win out over coolness. I would personally just leave him to make his own wardrobe changes, he is a grown man. I do like pp's recommendations to try and suggest to him that he may want to look at long pants that are lighter weight than jeans. And you also now have a few recommendations for where he can buy shorts while there, so that can always be the last resort plan for him.

My father almost never wore shorts. Here in Kentucky it can get as hot as anywhere and humid. We would go to King's Island and he would wear pants, but not jeans. As said before, just light weight slacks. He also wore pants when we went to Dollywood in the summer in 90 degree weather. Maybe you could buy him some light weight pants and say hey look at these! I got them on sale! That way you aren't pushing the shorts issue. You could also buy those ones that zip off maybe?

If you can find them at Disney, they'll cost you approximately a billion dollars and they'll look like Mickey Mouse himself puked all over them. Bring some from home, definitely.

Hubby refuses to wear shorts. He has scars all over his lower legs and gets really embarrassed by them. He wears jeans year round, even in the parks. Like a previous poster suggested, he would be far more uncomfortable in the shorts.

Put a cheap pair of men's shorts in your suitcase. He might thank you and you will save him a bunch of money. While they sell men's clothing at WDW, it is not inexpensive.

And if for some reason that is not feasible, hopefully he has enough $ to buy shorts if he wants them, and he doesn't mind any Mickey Mouse patterning.

My husband bought some on our first trip - years ago. It was a January trip! Never thought we'd need shorts. They were expensive, but well made Disney cargo shorts. Can't remember where we got them, but we were staying in the Wilderness Lodge that year.

Honestly, it seems like every trip, we end up having to buy some garment at Disney Stores. At least they're souvenirs!

I think I disagree with most of the advice. This is not a husband. Has never worn shorts. Never been to Disney. Lived in Texas (by the way it depends on where Texas on the humidity thing...Houston is brutal).
He is going to Disney because you want to. Allow him the choice of what to wear. If you pull shorts out of your suit case, it screams: I told you so! That usually does not go well....just my .02

Heck what can it hurt to get a cheap pair and throw them in the suitcase. Then if he complains, he won't have to spend $50 on a pair of shorts he will never wear again. I'd consider that a favor.

My DH never wears shorts and we go to Disney World yearly, from summers to just last week. He wears lightweight pants like golfers wear - solid colors. He is comfortable in them because they wick and are lightweight.

I never wear shorts at home. (Northern Indiana)
Mosquito's, ticks, bee's, ground hornets, wasps, and fleas are the dominant life forms up here and bare legs are their preferred attack zones.
BUT......
When I'm at WDW I wear cargo shorts every day.
The Florida heat, humidity, and pop up storms coupled with the vast ocean of concrete at WDW make long pants miserable.

We went last month, 3/13-21, and really wish we had brought shorts. We live in Texas. I was worried that we would be cold in the mornings, because the temps were supposed to be in the high 60s. DS and I freeze in the high 60s here in shorts. It turned out to be in the 70s before we left the hotels (before 7am), and it felt a lot warmer than I thought it would. It actually got up to the high 80s, maybe low 90s. Next time, I am bringing shorts and a pair or two of pants, maybe capris or skirts for me. DS and I usually wear pants on the plane, because it's cold. You could probably find shorts outside the park, but I had a hard time finding any for DS in the parks/hotels. What I did find was weird, expensive, or not his size.

He's a guy who gets overheated easily

But he doesn't wear shorts?

He's originally from Texas

Big difference between currently living in a place vs being *from* a place. I'm originally from CA but I've lived in WA for the most part since '87. My body temperature isn't Californian anymore. :)

I can see it going both ways. With my hubby (and this would have been the case from our 3rd date on), if there were a clothing issue and I went ahead and prepared for it, he would be grateful if he ended up changing his mind. (and would enjoy it if I said "oops, you were right, look how silly I was" if he didn't change his mind) All previous boyfriends of mine would have seen it as a "told you so" and gotten offended. In my own personal experience, if the reaction is the latter, run, run far and fast! :)

I wish I could convince my brother to bring shorts next month (mid- to late May). He plans on wearing jeans every day, and he considers 50* too warm. (He's also big enough that there's zero chance any of the resorts would carry his size in case he changes his mind.)

I know that for him, he doesn't want to wear shorts because he's embarrassed about his legs being "too big" and white. Obviously we all have our hang ups about our bodies, but logically, I doubt anyone would notice or care. I wish he felt secure enough to dress for comfort.

What about light coloured Khaki pants? My husband doesn't like to wear shorts either but he stays comfortable enough in his khakis. (He doesn't wear jeans at all...or sandals)

The best thing to happen to pants = Zip Off /convertible to shorts option ! Definitely helped our sons who didn't like shorts but the novelty of having the choice to make the pants into shorts at a moments notice ( and fold the extra pieces into a back pack ) was so "COOL" that they couldn't resist. For anyone else in this situation , I suggest let him go try some on in a outdoors store or let him shop online to see what's available ( That way it's their decision ;) )

You should be able to find shorts at the Deluxe resorts' gift shops. They sell lots of golf shirts and some pants/shorts there.

Personally, I usually wear jeans at WDW, even in the summer. But I'm from Texas, so it's not that different than what I'm use to.

haha me too, but then I love the heat.

Just go buy 4 pairs of shorts in a style you think he will like.

When packing, just give them to him, washed and folded.

If he says I don't want them, just sweetly say "plz do this for me, so I don't have to worry about you being uncomfortable", kiss hug ty. end of story.

If he wares them great if not don't care. Never say anything about shorts afterwards.

I have a couple or pairs of these and they always go to WDW with me in case I want long pants some evening.
