Do they only offer the pin codes one time of year?

I'm a newbie to the codes stuff, and noticed that everyone seems to be more hyped up about it now than last month. Is this because Disney only releases the 40% pin codes at the beginning of the year?

I don't recall a 40% off code being issued in large numbers at any point besides January in 2007...

Anyone else?

I have received 40% off codes mid- to end-of-the year before, but they weren't offered in such large numbers as they are being now. I don't even remember them being mentioned on the DIS. The DIS is probably the most informed Disney community, but really represent a small number of people who go to Disney. Anyhow...

It is my opinion that there will not be another 40% code for the rest of the year considering the wide range of dates that this offer entails. Unless, of course, it is for a package. Other codes offered, if offered, throughout the rest of the year will probably be for a much lesser amount off.

I get them several times a year, but Disney seems to know that I can only travel during the summer because I never get a discount code for June - July!
