Do they have cabs for family of 5 at WDW??

We are a family of 5 travelling from overseas. We will need to get to Universal Studios and to Seaworld on a couple of our days. I know we could catch a bus, but as we are staying at AKL, its a far trek to the TTC I beleive. It seemes that it will be much quicker to leave direct from AKL. So what options for transport do I have other than a bus. Do the Taxi carry 5 passengers?? Mears shuttles does I know, but somewhere I read that its about $15pp x 5 = $75. And would we then need to know exactly what time we want to be picked up at the end of the day?? Would Taxi be cheaper or more expensive than this, but will we fit??

Yes, they have taxi-minivans available at the resorts. We are a family of 6 and have used them several times. They are usually already out front waiting for passengers or you could call for them.

They have taxi's that are vans. You just might want to make sure when you call down for one, you let them know you would like a van.

They are not minivans at Disney. They are full size Ford 7 passenger vans by Mears transportation. It will cost you approx. $20.00 to Seaworld and $30.00 to Universal. I don't know which hotel you are staying at so can't give you an accurate figure. You can pick up the same time of van when you return to Disney as Mears vans cover both parks stands.

Taxis you pay per vehicle and use the vehicle when you are wanting to use it. Mears shuttle you pay by the person and go when they want you to go. The current price for the shuttle is around $15.00 roundtrip per person. Not current on that price.

subscribing to get the answer on this. We too are a party of 5 going from POR to Sea World. had considered the Lynx bus for the trip to Sea World, but would like a taxi on the way home when everyone is tired.

I do not know for sure what the Mears shuttle charges per person to go to those destinations. The only thing I am saying is, to me, it is worth the extra I might pay to step into an air conditioned taxi when I walk out at the resort or the park, than to wait in the maybe hot, humid or raining weather for a shuttle to appear and take to to the park or back to the resort.

In June, my nephew and I scheduled Sunray Transportation for our SeaWorld day. From AKL to SW returned to WL (for dinner) = $60 per vehicle up to 6 people. I also used them in July 04 for the same thing and in Jan 05 to go from HRH to MGM. (My oldest nephew's choice of hotel & park, not mine!) We had just got off a DCL cruise and nephew wanted to go to MGM. I figured we'd be there all day and scheduled a pickup for 9pm. However, by 2pm, we were TIRED, so I called and rescheduled the pickup for 3pm. Got back to HRH and crashed hard.

while we were at the WL in august - they were kind enough to take us by their van to BC for early breakfast - 8 am - at no charge. we of course gave our driver a tip, we were 6 in total. doesn't hurt to ask at your desk.
