The Disney UK stores don't. Trust me, i'm in there all the time :rotfl: I don't think I have ever seen Disney $s in any Disney Store

No if I remember the Disney Stores UK are part of a separate company.

They definitely don't. I suspect the other reason is that the fluctuating exchange rate would make administering these a nightmare :teeth:

I thought the Disney UK stores were one of the few to still be Disney-owned Reid, but I may be wrong! I know they still accept my DVC discount anyway :teeth:

Your probably right. I thought I rembered reading that they were not part of Disney Inc. Must have imagined it

I too think they are still Disney owned. As I said on the other thread about the Disney Store, last time we went to the Southampton one it was half empty so I asked a CM what was happening and he said they had received an email that week to say they were no longer up for sale because no one would buy them! :confused3

Renate, I remember a thread about Disney dollars on the UK board recently, someone mentioned you can buy them on Ebay, suppose it depends how badly you want some.

Could be completely wrong here...but....

I'm sure that I read that Disney tried to offload the "Disney Store" division as it wasn't making money - managed to offload the US side, but was left with the EMEA operations.

I'm sure, however I read that after sometime Disney decided that:

a) It couldn't find anyone to take on the EMEA stores
b) The EMEA stores didn't do that badly when view seperately from the US operation

and hence have kept the EMEA business.

I have read that you can buy then by post from WDW. They send them out registered post. Try asking on the WDW boards.
