Do the Disney resorts have trick or treating for the children in the evening of Halloween?

they hav egames and character meets - each resort will have different activities and different characters and you can go to any of them not just the resort you are staying at

Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside usually have trick or treating and other events scheduled on Halloween. Don't know about the other resorts.

We were at ASMo in 2014 and Pop in 2015 for Halloween. Both had small activities going on. We also went over to the Boardwalk and they had a huge party going on with an DJ. Not sure if the activities depend on the level of resort you are at or if the Boardwalk was just an exception.

When were were at ASSP goofy and pluto had meet and greats and there was Trick or Treating

We were at Pop in 2015 and there was cupcake decorating, trick or treating, characters in costume - the kids had a lot of fun, glad we spent the night at the resort.

Each resort has it's planned events on Halloween night, along with characters in costumes. Last year my friend and I hopped from resort to resort to get pictures with the characters. All of them had a DJ, arts and crafts, and some kind of snack to make like decorate cookies. The stores also had candy for those that still wanted to walk around and trick or treat. If you're into pin trading also some stores had special pin trading set-up for Halloween.
