Do the new stores in Disney Springs accept Disney gift cards?

Does anyone have experience using Disney gift cards at the new stores in Disney Springs? I'm particularly interested in whether or not the Sperry store accepts them.

I'm not sure about most but I spoke to customer service at Lilly Pulitzer who said at this time they will not accept Disney gift cards.

If they accept room charging (and you are staying onsite) then you could always charge it to your room and pay the room charge with your gift cards.

Thank you, I didnt think about charging to my room and paying it off with gift cards. So, do most of the new stores allow you to charge to your room?

Depending on when you go, we just got back and very few are open so far. Mostly still under construction

I have found that if it's Disney owned or operated, then gift cards should be okay.

If not, then usually not. Most that don't accept Disney gift cards won't allow charging back to the room either (only exception is a spa (mandara spa) that's on hotel property.

I haven't been to the new area but I can't imagine how a Sperry store not affiliated with Disney at all would accept a Disney gift card. I could see where they might in the future but that would required an agreement between the stores and Disney and that could cause problems with other locations of a particular store outside of Disney Springs (not counting Outlet locations of a store though). Just my personal thoughts though never say never

My first thought was, they should! But being how many specialty shops there are that are non-Disney owned, I have a feeling they won't take them. Should be interesting which ones do and don't.
