Do the kids in Oceaner Club and Lab get to go to the pool ever?

When the kids are in the Oceaner Club or Lab do they get to go to the pool at all?

I've been on a 3-day and a 4-day cruise and my experience is, no they don't take the kids to the pool. In fact they don't take the kids to the beach when on Castaway Cay either. Actually I think it is good that they don't take them to the pools one horrible swimming tragedy and they would be forced to change the Club and Lab and as they are right now they are awesome....My kids love the activities!

Same on the 7 day, if they want to swim, they don't do it with the clubs.

The only way kids go to the pools is when their parents take them.

The 10-12 group did have a pool party one night. They Mickey pool was available just for them. DD had a great time.

Remember, these people are councilors, NOT lifeguards (even though some may be). During the day, the pool is usually crowded, so in order to maintain a "secure" environment, they would have to ask everyone else to leave the area during their time there. That would make for a lot of unhappy cruisers. You notice that when the kids clubs go somewhere else on the ship, they usually have the area to themselves so the councilors can maintain control of the group. Wouldn't want any child to become lost or worse, taken!

Bottom line: if your kids want to swim, You have to take them.

Thanks for the reponses. I feel a little better knowing that they will not go. They did ask though, so I thought that I would get them the correct info. At least I am guaranteed time that they will want to spend with the family, because they love to swim!

One more thing to note. There are no lifeguards on duty at any of the pools. You should keep an eye on your children when they are in the pools. Alot of parents aren't watching and some of the older kids can play rough with each other and can overwhelm the younger kids in the pool, also a lot of kids are jumping into the water, if your child in underwater they can get hurt and you are going to be the only person looking out for them.
