do resale owners get first crack at new resorts too?

I understand that disney offers DVC members the opportunity to purchase first at new DVC resorts. Is this only for direct purchase members or do all DVC owners have the chance?

So currently, that's a "yes"? My husband is worried about being able to buy at any future DLR DVC if it has anything to do with star wars land. I want to buy resale and he wants to buy direct, solely because of this reason! He's worried it would sell out before being offered to the public.

No one can predict the future. Even the advance emails for CCV didn't go to everyone. It was not consistent in any way.

Depending on where you live sometimes they cannot sell remotely to you, for instance.

And tell your DH not to worry - there is zero chance that any DVC would sell out to exiting owners (unless it were about a total of 2 units and that won't be done). DVC doesn't want to just sell to existing - they want to bring in new owners and even the smallest resort they've done so far hasn't even come close to not going to public sales.

I remember back when guides tried to build a hype that BLT would sell out before it was offered to the public 2.5 years later and still selling.

Buy resale and then take the savings to buy whatever resort your DH expects to come online that he would like to purchase direct.

If offered. Is d23 consistent in week, though? Otherwise, I suspect the fixed week option is less fierce than trying for week 48 studios at CCV.

Probably not. If reports from CCV are indicative they limited the fixed week sales to a percentage of the first declaration. It's likely that the one week that reportedly sold out will eventually have more available. That's available very rare possibility for someone to be concerned about too - vs points.

So far no and I doubt they'd limit it as such. Fixed weeks for a resort makes sense for many, though I don't believe they'll let you break it up into smaller contracts with the fixed week and I understand they've not been extending sales discounts/incentives to fixed week purchases.
