Do Renters Receive the same benefits as Members?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if those renting points receive all or some part of the benefits that members do and if so - which ones? Wasn't sure if you needed to be in possession of a DVC member card in order to get the benefits (ie. dining discounts, discounts on mini golf, free valet parking, that sort of thing) or if the room key was enough.

Many of the restaurants are now asking for the blue member card along with the room key before granting the discounts. Not all, though. Ask before you order if it's important.

If you are staying at a resort that offers valet parking, you'll probably get that (but only at that resort) and you'll probably be able to pool hop if the dates are not blocked out for all members.

Don't know about mini-golf - haven't done that in a while.

Best wishes -

In addition to Carol's comments, renters are not supposed to receive any member benefits, so do be prepared to need to show a DVC member card or be denied any of these perks.

It can't hurt to ask and you may get some of the benefits.

There really are two answers here. One is the rules which say renters don't get the benefits. The other is reality which says it's possibly you'll get some or all but it does seem increasingly more difficult to do so. So ask and if you don't get it, no big deal.
