Do people rent out small amounts of points?

Due to some issues with how some summer trips were booked, I have an issue with 35 banked/borrowed points I will not be able to use before my use year ends this fall. I’m stressed out because I don’t want these points to go to waste but we won’t be able to use them and obviously they can’t be banked. I’m curious if it’s very common for people to even bother messing with such a small point rental? I know this could get someone a couple nights in a studio, but it seems like most people are looking to rent for longer vacations.

Does anyone have any experience with renting out just a few points like this? Any other ideas on what to do with the points?

Put them out there. Lots of locals do 1-2 night stays.

I think so, I've seen requests for as low as 10 points on the DVC rental store. I was looking to rent out a few points myself due to a similar situation.

I would recommend trying to rent them in the DIS. But since they are distressed points, they may go for a lower price per point.

Sure, as an owner I’ve sometimes not had enough points to complete a reservation so I rent for one additional night to link onto the front or back end of my trip.

Book your 35 points somewhere, preferably a weekend, then list your points to rent. If someone bites, cancel/modify the reservation and voila!

Otherwise, list the reservation on disboards as a pre-booked stay if you can’t rent out the 35 points elsewhere (although I doubt this will be the case).

This way you’ll have two “options/methods” to salvage $$.

You should be fine.

Just book a few nights first (as mentioned, Friday-Sunday/Monday) using all 35 points, so you have something/anything.

Then list your points for ?? $15? 16? 14? 17? per point and someone will jump on that quickly imo. Obviously the lower you list the points the faster they will go…
