Do People Do This? - leaving items for next guest

We are thinking of shipping an inexpensive air mattress and maybe some other items (drip coffee pot/filters for room, etc), but don't want to ship/pack them for home. I'd hate to throw them out. Do people ever coordinate swaps? Like we're staying at POR and leaving on Date, so I'd just box them up and leave them at the front desk for Family ABC who are arriving on Date? I wouldn't expect payment, just paying it forward!! I don't even know what this would be called, so I have no idea how to search the forum.

There is a Facebook page called: wdw disney recycle, reuse and regift

I think this is the perfect place to list it.

You could also list it on the POR or whatever resort that you are staying at thread prior to your visit and work out who you will leave the stuff for via PM.
