I recieved a quote from Exquisite Limo Service for and SUV to take us LAX to GCH and back to LAX. We were to get an SUV, and the quote specifically stated it was all inclusive, which included the gratuity. When the driver dropped us off at the hotel, he stated he knew nothing of the gratuity being included in the fare, which caused us some embarrassment as we had budgeted everything out and were not prepared with extra cash for an additional gratuity, but my husband gave it to him anyway. On the trip home, they sub-contracted our transportation back to LAX, which was from another company which had a van service. Yes, it was a private van, but I did not reserve a van, I was expecting an SUV. I wrote them an e-mail when I returned home stating how disappointed I was with their service, and they ignored my e-mail. I think this organization has been completely unproffessional, and wanted to let others know what to expect if they hire this service.

That is good info to know. Word of mouth about personal experiences really influences me about what services I want to try. So, I will certainly be on the look-out for info about other transportation services for our trip.

BTW, we used ExecuCar service in Washington DC recently from Dulles airport and were very pleased with the service that we received. I would highly recommend ExecuCar.

OP, you need to follow up with them. Call, email again...and report them to the Better Business Bureau! We've gotten more action with the BBB reporting (even if they aren't "members" of the BBB) than most anything else....

I was travelling with my sister last year when we had a problem with a limo pickup. I was impressed that my sister insisted on calling the company right then and there (even though it was around 11 at night) with the driver to resolve the situation.

I know the ship has already sailed this time around, but next time you face a situation like the driver claiming he doesn't know anything about the gratuity being included, insist on calling with you both standing there! I suspect the driver KNEW the gratuity had been included in your rate, but was just trying to scam some extra...

Yes, that was my impression too. And because we argued with him (in a polite way), he didn't want to do the return trip for us, so sub-contracted out to a van company. But that is just my opinion.

I recommend Harold's Limo for any limo service. He is EXCELLENT!!! Super nice older gentleman, nice price as well. My round trip limo for a stretch was $167 with gratuity included. Here's his website. We're using him again this next trip and used him last year with no complaints

That sounds like a horrible situation!

I keep a narrow binder that has all of our reservation receipts and I bring it along on the trip. It contains receipts and paperwork for airline, hotel, rental car/shuttle, DL e-tickets and the spreadsheet for Disney dining reservations. If anything has a confirmation number, it goes in the binder. :)

I know that SuperShuttle lists gratuity as a line item, so it's handy to bring that along in case a sticky-fingered driver wants extra moolah.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but I also call and confirm each reservation prior to leaving. I used to be an admin and one time I had the bad experience of NOT following up with a manager's travel arrangements. His hotel canceled the reservation and he ended up staying at an hourly-rate 'motel' - sticky rug and 24-hr porn on TV. Awesome. :headache: :rolleyes1
