Do NOT eat an entire bag of Sugar Free Twizzlers

you take a pillow so you can lay on the floor and rest. Been there for several reasons.
No offense but that kind of grosses me out.

I'd rather go lay on my bed and have to get up to go to the bathroom 100 times, than take a pillow into the bathroom, no matter how recently I'd cleaned it. ;)

I hope you feel better soon, OP!

This is probably TMI, but having had some experience with sugar alcohols...well...seriously you don't have TIME to get back to the bathroom. :scared: There isn't much warning either...it's either toilet or tons of laundry.

OP - I laughed out loud just reading the subject of this thread - didn't even need to open it. Been there, done that!! :rotfl:

maybe a boatload of Splenda would do it to me, too. :confused3

I had read (the source escapes me) that eating too much Splenda may cause diarrhea. I used to eat these low carb chocolate bars (Carbolyte, I think) made with Splenda. Three of these bars and off to the porcelain goddess I went. (Needless to say, I cut down on my chocolate bar consumption.) I'm not absolutely certain what the substantiated side effects of Splenda are, though.

My Dh had a simliar experience with a bag of sugar free peanut butter cups. He thought that since they were sugar free it would be alright to eat the whole bag in one night (about 15 of them) needless to say we woke up in the middle of the night with such severe cramping that he couldn't even call for help. He learned his lesson the hard way and hasn't touched any sugar free candies since.

I used 3 splendas in my coffee every morning (I know, that's a lot). But, it is all I use unless on occasion I have unsweetened tea when we go out. Caffeine does me in though so I rarely drink anything but water after my coffee.

Just checking though! I don't want to be taking my pillow to the potty.

Go to CVS. Decide to get treat. Love Twizzlers. See they have SF Twizzlers. Decide to be "healthy" and go for the SF variety. Eat entire bag (about 3 servings). Take nap. Get woken up from nap by 3-piece orchestra in my stomach. Retrieve Twizzler bag from trash and read back. Malitol. Lots of it. Warning about poopy pants and gas. Get book and pillow. Proceed to toilet.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Sorry about your experience.
I knew where this thread was leading before I opened it!:lmao:

Same thing happened to my spouse several years ago. LOVES Twizzler's. Was on a business trip saw "chocolate" and decided to give 'em a try. Ate the whole bag. Had the same experience; to include reading the WARNING ingestion!

We laugh about it now. I believe it is called the "Twizzler Cleansing Diet":rotfl:

:rotfl2: I'm laughing, but you have my sympathy. I did the same thing with a bag of sugar free salt water taffy. My daughter and I ate it while we were outlet shopping 2 hours away from home. It was a loooooonnnnnng two hours home!

Bless your heart!
I keep regular twizzlers in my house but not SF. This is good to know!
I also have an additction to Swedish Fish. I cannot even buy the darned things because I have no self control when it comes to Swedish Fish!

Twizzler lovers, have you had the extra long ones yet. The package weights 3 lbs but it is not sugar free. I got them at Christmas Tree shops for 2.99 per bag. I am going to put them in a tall vase as part of a candy buffett I am doing.

FYI: I have this problem frequently because I am diabetic and end up eating too much stuff with sugar alcohol in it. Sometimes they call it by different names and it fools you. But, I digress. FYI - Imodium will stop it. Don't suffer with it all night.

Nutrasweet, Splenda, etc. don't seem to give the problem.

Crystal Light Slurpees can also give a thorough "cleansing", much to my chagrin.

It turns out that sorbitol is one of the sweetening agents in the Crystal Light slurpees.
Sorbitol (and mannitol) are both well-known for their laxative effects due to incomplete absorption , and bacterial fermentation in the bowel.

Some poor souls are very sensitive to the laxative effects of these sugars!:scared1:
