I know there are other threads about this but I wanted to know if people have sent a complaint or talked to the front desk at their resort and got any explanation. We just got back from the Beach Club Villas and we got a knock at our door every morning at 8:00 am I told the housekeeper we do not want service for our entire stay. And still because it was a different person we still kept getting disturbed. Then they came back and gave us service when we were gone. We like our privacy and being able to leave our cameras and laptops out. I was just getting a shirt and pants on after the knock and the person was already trying to come in. And on the day we were checking out they put the basket with towels and sheets in our room before we had left.

Seems ridiculous to pay that much for a resort and cant have any privacy.

We sent an email but haven't received a response.

Just curious to anyone's else response from Disney.

I thought it was clear that guests at WDW hotels could no longer request that nobody enter the room for the entire stay (not sure if it has been rolled out to all resorts yet). They are reserving the right to enter every room at least once a day, even if the guest has requested that they do not want housekeeping service.

So I'd suggest maybe not leaving cameras and laptops out anymore.

Does anyone else agree that 8:00 is really too early for a visit? Although, we're usually up by 8:00, we're still in our PJs, or just finishing a morning shower. Why not wait until 9:00?

I definitely think it’s too early & I wouldn’t be happy about having a basket of laundry in my room (as that guest or the one incoming).

This all being discussed in the other two major threads.

Laptops, maybe, if theres a good place to put them away. But Id do the opposite on cameras. Get a good (ideally web based) camera that you can quickly and easily hook up and leave in your room, either looking at the door or at your valuables/bags/area you're concerned about. Plenty of good affordable options out there, many with apps that give you motion detection notifications, let you watch the video live, record it or clips for later, and or even talk back through it like a walkie talkie. Wont be doing a Disney trip without one. Hopefully something like that can help comfort some people who are really worried or upset by these poorly implemented policies. For me, it doesn't fix it entirely, but it helps at least a little bit knowing who/when/what is going on in the room. And most importantly that any items I have aren't being stolen, and if they are, I have the footage to prove who took what when.

And 9 doesn't even work for me. Lots of folks are night owls, shut down the parks and sleep in. Personally they need to do this between 10 and 2 when there is a good chance most are gone somewhere. Entering in rooms uninvited while guests are there is ........... not good business.

Dealt with the "checks" this week ........... been letting it mull, and at this point I'm keeping my offsite reservations for the upcoming trips. I'm just finding less and less positives to staying on property.

At 8:00am?!!

Holy cow. My son is NEVER up that early at Disney. I would have a fit.

Adding to my list of what to bring along with post-its is my OWN do not disturb sign. They can kiss my patooty if someone came knocking at my door at 8am. It's my vacation, and we sleep in! Or I'll answer in my undies, LOL!

Given how my room wasn’t ready until 45 minutes after the 3:00 PM check-in time, you’d think they would prioritize turning over check-outs that early.

The problem is they will keep knocking if you don't answer.

People need to try and remember the person knocking on your door is just doing their job. They don't have it out for you, and doing something like answering the door in your underwear (and you are not the first person to state that) is childish at best. If your child is sleeping the best thing is to answer the door quickly, and hope they agree to come back later, or that they just give your room a quick glance.
