At work we were just talking about the Magic Kingdom. My coworker just said that she hated it. She thinks it's old and outdated, and she said she can't believe she actually paid to go there! My jaw nearly dropped to the floor! Did my ears deceive me??? She said of all the parks in Florida that they visited, the Magic Kingdom was her least favorite! Luckily, my other coworker is my best friend, and she and I simply said that we love the Magic Kingdom! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: I just had to come post here because I knew you guys would understand my shock!

That's what I decided, Rajah! ;)

It's true when people say that some people "just don't get it", in reference to Disney World, especially the Magic Kingdom. I have friends who have gone there too, and didn't like it because there weren't enough thrill rides. They have no appreciation for what the Magic Kingdom stands for, or what was behind it all (I mean Walt's idea of a good "family" park)......

Like Rajah said, "more room for us" :p

To each his own, I guess....

I have learned in my OLD AGE that you can't make everyone happy! Like Rajah said, more room for us!

Okay, I'll confess, MK is not my favorite park. I know that sounds unAmerican but it's true. I like EPCOT better, then MGM.

I still love MK but it's not my favorite :)

I bet your coworker has lost her child heart. MK is more geared, imo, to those that still act or feel like a child at heart. I love MK.:teeth:

Those are the same kind of people who think antiques are ugly. ;) They don't appreciate old beauty or a classic when they see it. The MK will forever be my favorite park no matter how old it gets.

I think more room for us too :) MK was all there was the first time I went so it is very special to me.

Kath you're still okay in my book. You put MGM above Epcot so that's still good in my eyes ;)

When some people know you love something they try to bash it just for the fact to hurt you. I can't stand people like that.

Tom...

MK isn't my favorite either, and I'm not a bad person. :)

I prefer both Epcot and MGM to MK, and AK is moving up. MK is just too crowded for my taste.

I love MK and will always love it. So it isn't Six Flags and littered with roller coasters - that's just the reason I love it there. You can almost feel Walt's presence in that park, and that's what makes it special for me. :D

I love em' all. I know people who don't like it because of the 'commercialism', so they say. :teeth:

I love the MK and all the other Disney parks, too. Not to love them may be un-American.

Let's all open a can of corn and celebrate that we are in the know. I think it's cool that even though we are all so different, we are united in our love of Disney. IMO, the others are missing something special.

:p

I agree with your point, but I have to admit...this phrase is new to me!

Do you often open a can of corn in celebration?

alabamaalan, it's a reference to a thread about the funniest/weirdest things people have seen at WDW. One person said they saw a couple sitting on the steps of City Hall at the MK eating corn out of a can. :teeth: From there it became sort of a running joke. :teeth:

I can totally understand people who have other favorite parks than the MK (I probably love Epcot just as much as the MK), but I don't get her animosity towards it. Oh well, I'll just open up my can of corn with MerryPoppins. :)

The can of corn refers to postings some years ago about a family observed on the steps of city hall in the MK sharing an opened can of corn. It struck everybody as hilarious and at every DIS meet since someone is bound to bring along a can of corn.
