Do many of you DVCers go to Univeral regularly while visiting WDW?

I've been mulling over adding on a night or two at Universal to our June VWL trip. From your comments, it's looking like it might be a plan.:D

Just last night we were discussing our trip to VWL/WDW in September. Our AP for USF/IOA expires this month and we discussed whether we would use two of our 6 $99 AP vouchers or skip Universal this trip because, I am the one who does all of the rides in our family (of just me and my husband).

He made the comment that he could not imagine going to Orlando and not going to IOA. So for us, a few days tacked on to a trip to VWL is a perfect vacation. We also visit IOA or USF even while staying at VWL. With our AP it does not cost to park, and only takes a few (15 or so) minutes to get there. But the hghlight for me is staying at one of Universals hotels. Especially HRH. Love that place.

NEVER go to Universal or IOA. Just not the same atmophere as WDW. I prefer Epcot, MGM, and AK at WDW to anything else! Even the MK comes in ahead.

We went to Universal once - a few months after 9-11. There was literally no one in the park. We got on everything with absolutely no wait. I was glad, because I have no desire to go back, so I can now say "been there, saw it all, not going back".

It just wasn't Disney! It was fun, I thought some of the attractions were well thought out & imaginative, but it just can't compare.

We didn't do IOA because none of my 3 DD's are big thrill ride kids so it would be a waste of money right now.

We have relatives who love it, but they also love coasters & thrill rides. They even get season passes for a Six Flags in our area, which as other posters mentioned, are filthy. Yuck - I don't even like to think about the things I saw the few times I have been there.

Anyway, if I never go to Universal again it would be okay with me.

Our family went to US last Christmas. We found the whole place pretty boring, except for MIB. The Nickelodeon show was fun for the kids. The shows stink - especially Animal Planet Live.

Crowd control is pretty pathetic. Wait times are definitely understated. The food is more expensive than Disney - not much, but still noticeably higher. Theming and design are boring.

I went to IOA on a business function. I'm not a thrill ride guy, but Spiderman rocks! Quite possibly the best ride I've been on - including Test Track (Well, Soarin' over California at DCA is cool, too). IOA is also much more visually appealing. The theming is much more engaging.

WE went to US when at disney in 2000 and I don't have any desire to go back. Just weren't treated the same as when at WDW. Dh uses a whellchair and one show I couldn't even set with him - I had to set behind him up 2 rows. Have never gone to IOA - not a big thrill ride person.
