I have a 3 and 7 yr old. Wondering if kids wear life jackets at the water parks? If yes, where is a good place to buy them? Thanks for your help!

Yes. They are recommended for children (or adults, for that matter) who are not strong swimmers.

You don't have to buy them; the water parks and resort pools lend lifejackets to those who want/need them.

Are there any rides where life jackets are not allowed? We've been to other parks where the kids were required to take off the life jackets if they wanted to ride.

When we went to Typhoon Lagoon last week with DD who is 4, we rented a life jacket. There was no charge for it, nor did we get charged for the towel use either. I will say this the towels are a bit on the small side, and I'm not a big person. DD went on all the rides except the speed slides and Crush N Gusher (just not tall enough yet), and she was able to wear the life jacket on all of them. Haven't been to Blizzard Beach, so I don't know if things are different over there.

My DD6 has worn the water parks life jacket everytime we've been. She's still learning to swim so I'm more comfortable with her wearing it though I do let her take it off sometimes, like in the kid's areas. She's never had to take it off for any rides she was tall enough for at BB or TL. Several times I have had parents ask me where we got the vest and I've let them know and that they are FREE! :goodvibes

As for towels, we always bring our own from home. We find a lot of uses for beach towels during our trips. If it's hot, of course, there's always someplace your kids can get wet (we also bring along a bathing suit and water shoes) and when it's cold a big towel makes an excellent blanket (We all huddled under two towels in Dec. one year while waiting and watching Illuminations. The wind off the lake was brrrrrrr! ) Also towels are very handy for drying off after rain :umbrella: Of course, we've always had a stroller to carry our extra stuff in-not at water parks though-and once we stop bringing the stroller we'll have to cut back on the items we bring with us (or rent a locker) :confused3

Life jvests are free and towels are supposed to be $1/towel...but they often don't charge. Also, they do not allow you to have your kids wear their personal vests...has to be theirs. TL is a much better bet for little ones over BB.

Are you sure kids can't wear their own life vests? My kids have ones that seem way more comfortable than the rentals you usually see.
