We will be there this next Halloween. My kids will want to go trick or treating but I am not spending extra money for MNSSHP. I am wondering if kids trick or treat at the Fort at all? We are not staying at a site but had planned on coming for the Sing A Long one night. I'm wondering if we could combine that with trick or treating if they have it. My kids would hate to miss getting to go out that night! (They are still both under 5 so I like the cuteness factor too.) ;)

Halloween night? Absolutely. Are you staying on property? If so, then you can. They were thankfully turning non-Disney guests away this past year.

From what we have seen posted in the past, yes. It was worse, but Disney finally cracking down on the locals trying to get in and take advantage of the campers seemed to of helped some from reports we saw in October, but it is still busy. Nobody really seemed to indicate that it was too busy to be able to enjoy yourself though. I say if you are there, it should be a great thing to do.

Thanks! This is for onsite guests though correct? We are not staying onsite this time. :(

This past Halloween, if you did not have a reservation they were denying entry to the campground.

For people staying on Disney property. Here is a link to the October trip report. Page 15 Lehuaann posted some pictures.

In the past it got way out of hand with locals mobbing the campground using it for their ToT. It wasn't fair to the campers so enough complaints probably led to the change in policy to turn away non-guest.

I think what PaHunter is saying here is that they were denying entry to the parking lot at the front of the Fort because the lot was overflowing everywhere and there was literally no place to park. If someone else reading this is a WDW guest, I recommend you come via bus or boat. The easiest way is probably to take a bus or other transport from your on-property resort to the MK and then from directly in front of the MK bag check area, take the boat to FW. Or generally speaking from any theme park take an internal bus to FW.

This past Halloween, if you didn't have a reservation for Trails End, HDDR or were staying at the campground, they turned you around, Disney guest or not. They had Sheriff at entrance as well as Fort Security. Now if you take a bus in or a boat you'll be fine, just dont expect to park at Fort Wilderness.
