Does anybody make a little "welcome basket" for their child/children for when you get to Disney? I was looking at buying one but thought it was too much money so I started thinking about making my own. Something from "Mickey" telling her to have a good trip.

So far I have bought her a crown, some princess snack containers and am going to buy an autograph book and pen.

What do other folks do?

I've decided to do this for my kids also! I found a stuffed Mickey at the Dollar store and will also include a gift card to spend in the parks. One of the disigners on the Disboards has cute welcome letters you can personalize. I'm also going to include a t-shirt, goggles and other little things found at the Dollar Tree, glow sticks, and the Epcot passport. Have fun!

Here are the ones I did for DS and DD on our trip 2 years ago.

They had the Welcome letters, invitation to Chef Mickey's for dinner that night, and candy bar wrappers all made by someone pn the DISign board. Disney Dollars, stuffed animals, and the spinning light things (clearance) I found at the Disney store, Disney PEZ dispensers and Disney paddle ball from the Dollar Tree. And some pins for trading that we had gotten on ebay.

I didn't put a great deal of money into it but the kids LOVED it! I had everything in my carryon (the boxes were collapsible) and when we got to the hotel DH took the kids into the arcade while I ran up and put it all together. They never even missed me.

I brought something to leave out every night.. DD thought it was Tinkerbell.
She couldn't wait to go to bed so she could wake up and see what Tink left!

Who did the Chef mickeys invitation?

I am doing the same thing. I am shipping the box down ahead of time and will set it up in the room as they are checking out the resort. I got the Mickey and Minnie resusable totes from the disneystore.com to hold everything in. It is also their birthday so they each have a musical plush. I put some matchbox cars in my sons and a Pocahontas play set for my DD. Michaels had a lot of Disney clearance so I got a lot there too. I will post pictures once I get it somewhat together.

I made some for our kids for our June trip.

We all loved them!

I made my kids gifts too. I bought them each a Disney backpack and filled those with all kinds of Disney goodies, autograph books, pens, journals, t-shirts, pj's, swimsuits, beach towels, personalized hats, Disney Pez and fruit snacks, glow sticks, etc. The creative Disigners are awesome and made me a personalized letter from Mickey to go with the gifts :thumbsup2

I don't have little ones anymore, but I thought of a few things. $5 and under store has lots of things. Perhaps a backpack to put everything in and then they can take it with them to the parks, a few dollars for the arcade, stamps for sending postcards home (to relatives or themselves), they're very own disposable camera, candy bars with personalized candy wrappers or a sign or things to decorate their room door or window. I miss doing those special things for the little ones and they're excitement.

I just might do this. We are surprising our dauther with a trip to Disney. She won't know about it until the day we leave.

We usually go in October, so I do something similar to Tinkerbelle. Halloween Mickey visits us every night; he leaves the treats in a Halloween bag hung on the inside of our door. The kids love it.

I like those gift boxes/surprises, but I'm not organized enough. :rotfl2:

I've been stocking up on little things to put together two gift baskets for my 2 nieces who will be with us on next trip. I plan to give them each a back pack before flight with coloring books, crayons, puzzle and snacks for flight and then a gift bag from Mickey and friends in room. So far for the bags I have honorary mickey gloves, mouse ears, starter lanyards and pins, set of mouse pals stuffed animals and disney toothbrushes. I also have plans to leave them a gift in the room every night from princesses or the fairies. So far I have Princess Pajamas, pick a pearl certificate with sterling silver necklace and pearl cages, invitation to dinner with Cinderella, invitation for BBB, Treasure hunt maps added some pirate themed goodies like chocolate coins and faux pearl necklaces, red bandanna. almost all of this stuff for invites/certs/char letters I found in the disigners area. I also plan to take them on a carriage ride and a few other things I'm still trying to put this all together. It is their first trip and so I'm trying to load it with pixie dust oooh almost forgot I bought them lush jasmine fairy bath bombs because they are loaded with pixie dust =)
