Do I really need a hotel with a pool in March?

We've booked the County Inn & Suites (Calypso Cay) for $59 for March 7-12. I've never been to Orlando any time other than summer so I don't know the temperature. Warm enough to swim? Booked this room in part because of the zero-entry pool for my kids (2&4.5). We will have our own car so transporation is not an issue.

Would I be better off saving the extra money and booking with another hotel that offers inroom micro and fridge? If so, any recommendations?

We are really on a budget so no grand suites or onsite stays for us this time. Thanks in advance for any advice. It's my family's first trip to disney and ds(4.5), who is obsessed with Shamu, cannot wait to get to SeaWorld.

This year will be our 5th trip to Disney in March. We have usually had great weather with an occaisional day of rain or cold. One year we had record highs in the upper 80s and lower 90's every day. Usually the weather is 70's and 80's and we've spent a lot of time in the pool. Last year the kids were in the pool every night after we got back from the parks. At night, it was on the cool side for me, but generally the pool was full of people throughout the day and night.

Sometimes March is kinda cold - sometimes it is warm....

but don't surprise no matter what the temperature if your kids don't demand to go swimming - sometimes being young the cold is worth it for them.

also if you daughter really loves SW and you know you will be back for at least 5 days - one person in the party needs an annual pass - parking is free with the annual pass and you get some meal discounts - with the fun pass it is just the entry to the parks. I get the gold pass - but I really, really love SW!!!

We stayed at the Country Inn, Calypso Cay in December and swam even though it got pretty chilly (High 50's and low 60's). The main zero entry pool did get a little cold, but the one next to it was nice and warm and there is a very warm jacuzzi also. The warmer pool might not be so good for your kids, though, since it's not zero entry.
Overall we loved the hotel. The rooms do come with microwave and refrigerator and there's a nice cupboard for stashing snacks. Also like the mini-golf and chocolate chip cookies in the lobby every afternoon.
By the way, I thought I'd mention that I saw on the Seaworld board that a baby orca was born at the Orlando Seaworld recently, so they weren't having any Shamu shows for awhile. You might want to keep an eye on that so that you can prepare your DS if they aren't having them while you're there. Hopefully they'll be having them again and he won't be disappointed!

You answered all my questions!

I originally booked the CI&S because we required a firdge and micro. Was also drawn to this property for the pools. I hope it's warn enough for us to use them.

As for the baby Orca, the CSR told me Shamu shows would occur on days when they can get the baby out ot the pool but it's really up to the baby if s/he wants to go to the holding pool as they can't physically remote it otherwise. We'll be there two days so hopefully we'll see the show at least once. Thanks again for all the info.
