We have been to BB only once but go to Shipwreck Island in Panama City Beach, FL ALL the time....like once a year for the last 15 or so! They have a posting as you enter the Park that no thongs or T-backs are allowed. Altho I personally don't have a problem w/someone wearing one (your business not mine) but other people really frown upon their child(ren) seeing your bare bottom. Also very low or tiny triangle bikini tops are an issue as well. I wouldn't wear one b/c I'm about 30 lbs overweight but even if I wasn't I just wouldn't do it. Also when you ride the big slides and the wave pools, it's difficult at best to keep everything covered and in place.
If you wanted to wear your thong to sunbath you could wear a pair of nylon shorts and a t-shirt to cover up.
About the shoes. We wear flip flops into the Park but riding rides we go barefoot. When my girls have to go potty I make them put shoes back on and we ALWAYS wear them when we're going to eat lunch. The concrete is very hot even if you have tough feet like mine! When I'm at the ocean I wear my water shoes. I've stepped on a sting ray before and had to be carried to the ER w/a 3 " gash in the side of my foot where the barbs from his tail got me. NEVER AGAIN will I experience that pain!!
Have a great time!!
