Do I need to return Magic Bands?

Hello,
When I booked Beach Club I wasn't able to get the same type of room for the whole stay, so I had two reservations.

Last week someone must have cancelled and I was able to cancel one reservation and just extend the other one so we have the same room the whole time. (I am very happy about this)

Anyway, I had received Magic Bands in the mail a day or two before i cancelled. Do I need to return them? Right now they show as active in MDE, will Disney be deactivating them? What do I do?

No you can keep them. Once issued to somebody, they can not be used by another person, so I doubt they want them back. They have plenty to go around. DH and myself have so many magic bands, we just decline them now.

Any magic band you have simply reads what is in your MDE account, so even though you cancelled the reservation, the MB's you received will still work for everything, unless you deactivate them.

Nope. They re urs to keep. If activated, some people like to use certain colors during certain holidays, to match their outfits etc.
I have a draw full of them. I make sure there is s first initial, mos/yr on it and just ur em when we want. I typically use my AP one..

We haven't been to Disney since 2009 - so this is our first time with MBs. We are staying one night BEFORE our cruise and one night AFTER our cruise. They sent us two different sets of MBs. I thought maybe we had to remember which was which - but after reading this, my understanding is that we only need to bring one of those sets and the info is the same on both?? I just want to make sure I understand! Also, we bought tickets to TL and they sent us cards - but won't those tickets be on our MBs, too??

Correct, you can leave one set at home. Myself, i travel with at least 6 or 7 magic bands so I decide which one to wear each day.

Sorry, I don't know all the abbreviations, is TL = Typhoon Lagoon? I've never done the water parks, so I'm not sure, but anything that shows in MDE, tickets, reservations will be read by any of your MB's. If your TL tickets are not showing in your MDE account, see if you can link the tickets to your MDE account. Having said that, we are Annual Pass holders and I always have our Tickets/cards with us, just in case the technology fails.

Yes, you can keep them, and no, you don't need to deactivate them.

All the band contains is an identifier that tells Disney's IT systems which MDE account the person wearing that band is associated with. So, it's possible to have multiple bands, from multiple trips, and they'll all work interchangeably. Tickets, dining plan credits, charging info...none of that resides on the band itself. It's all on Disney's servers. The band just tells the ticket turnstile, or charging point, or restaurant, which account to look in for ticket info, dining credits, fastpasses, etc. That's why you can have multiple magic bands, some from previous trips, and they'll all work with your current trip.
